Does Brad Arthur deserve the hype?

BA is a good coach and we've improved. Yesterday came down to being out coached in every facet from tactics to motivation.

BA is only his his first year of first grade. No shame in being out coached by a bloke who was coaching when Ned Kelly played fullback for the Glenrowan Bushrangers. Parra have showed great improvement but there are still areas that need work. Which is expected for a side that has won the last two spoons.

One, our defence is still not good enough. Thats what need to be fixed first

Secondly, our pack won't match it with the good packs so we need something different which we don't have

One thing I did like was when we raid the blind side using our big second rowers to get out of our end. But that's only happened twice.

Offloads is another. I am a big supporter of Offloads but we don't do it. Gower sometimes does it and we make big inroads then it stops

We have great broken play runners but don't use it.

I am not saying offload every play but mix it up.

It is like mammary who I think is so 1 dimensional. Hit up land on his belly and play the ball. No step. No big spin and offload. It is too obvious to the opposition defence.

Totally agree.

And thanks for a non smartass reply unlike all these other wankers. I guess i need to be in the boys club to get a reasonable discussion on this forum.

I want to point out that we've been missing Ma'u, Peats and Tonga a lot.

Peats is obviously a gun.

Ma'u is our enforcer.

And Tonga has been babysitting Semi in D, and with his loss, Semi looks pathetic defending next to Morgan.

I'm disappointed, but losing your hooker, forwards enforcer and star centre would make it tough for everyone.

Brad Arthur is a donkey, after a full season he still hasn't taught Semi how to Defend,he still hasn't taught Peni Terepo how to catch a ball,he still hasn't taught Corey Norman how to run the ball/pass the ball properly/do anything in general and he still hasn't learnt not to use Joseph Paulo in that stupid James Graham role.

Kick Brad Arthur out da comp

Your puerile attempts at humour really are boring. You are like a gobby little 15 year old.

Thats the reason for this blog dopey. Everyone is labelling him the messiah yet does he really deserve it. Has he overachieved?

Dont know if he has overachieved. the team was not as hopeless as what everyone thought. It was just that Ricky took us nowhere !

And Lets not forget the fact that BA has been part of the NRL coaching set up for 3 of the last 4 years. He knew what talent was here and how it could be improved to get off the bottom of the ladder. His 2 assistant coaches have really helped improve the standard too.

He didn't choose this team and he has done a great job! It is not his fault that there are some mentally piss weak players with pea hearts, he just inherited them!

If you looked at our this team this year on paper and they played the same as 2013 we would be wooden spoon contenders 2014, not potentially finishing on 30 pts. We haven't made that much of an improvement in our roster this year, if anything it has been a few steps backwards with the injuries we have had. The one thing that Arthur has done is made our underperforming players of last year (I'm not going to name names) perform at the level they are capable of and players that weren't as good or are young and inexperienced over-perform. We always had a team that could compete they just didn't believe in themselves or the game-plan and if you can't appreciate the difference Brad Arthur has made to the joint then you wont appreciate anything. The players are the ones that can hang their heads in shame and some of them will be on their last legs with their inconsistency... and a few of them can pack their bags if they dish that shit up again against the Raiders.

Arthur doesn't make players throw passes that look like they are thrown by someone having an epileptic fit, or beg them to drop balls without a single hand on them. Basic, fundamental errors by a few players like that cost the team the game against the Knights at a time when you could have put them to bed. You can take a player to water but you can't force some of them to drink. The club will not be playing the coach merry-go-round anytime soon my friends.

We had Hopoate, Peats, Norman, Gower, Ma'u all not in last years team

Radradra and Edwards didn't really get much of a run under Sticky

The Plane and Sandow played for more than half the season, unlike they did in 2013.

Willie Tonga played plenty more games this year than he did last year.

This squad is considerably better off that is was last year.

Peats and Mau are not playing in our team currently, it's something called an injury and they both have been for the most part of our performances. Hopoate had a few years off so if you looked at him last year you'd say that he would need some time to work back into first grade. Not many were expecting miraculous things from him this year neveralone to play origin. Gower falls under my category of playing above his potential and mate, ask any Broncos fan about Norman in 2013 or beforehand and they would tell you they weren't exactly sad to see the back of their affectionately named "Boreman". I don't think you understand my point at all.

"This squad is considerably better off that is was last year." - Did you even read my post, this is exactly what I was getting at?

I don't know why you are telling me how much more players have been playing this year either.

. IE. Thank you Brad Arthur for getting this team playing the way they should have. Just because someone wasn't playing for us doesn't mean that if you saw them on our team list in 2013 they'd be any better.
