the soft underbelly returns, right on queue

Do you mean soft underbelly like the 2001 runaway minor premiers going into the Grand Final then being down 24 zip at halftime. Or what about the 2005 Minor Premiers losing 29 - zip to the Cowboys in the GF qualifier. Or do you mean soft underbelly like when your leading the dogs by 18 points with 15 minutes to go in a Major semi.

Yes Parraboy, as an Eels supporter you should know all about soft underbellies.
lol, goose.

touched a nerve there eh, right on queue :D

Im not sure we have ever advertised anything about underbellies or the like, but the dragons surely have, and proudly at that

Maybe you missed it. All the hype about half way through the season was how the dragons are a totally different side, that they dont switch off, that they are feared etc....That Bennet has "changed the culture" no soft underbelly. Dragons players have puplically spoken about this ouch

think what i have typed and what you had typed i was talking about the teams the eels played in thier last 5 games and you brought up souths, and i gave you a answer the eels didnt play souths in the last 5 games

well i see your brain isnt here so bye fool

No Gaba, you are quite correct: Eels have not played Souths in the past 5 games.

I take it you follow St George? (Please correct me if I am wrong).

Regarding comparison of current form between Eels and Dragons, I offer the following:

- Souths flogged St George

- Penrith flogged Souths

- Parramatta flogged Penrith

Now, this all occurred within the last fortnight. For this reason, I think it is about the best yardstick we are going to get until next Friday night.

I am not going to get on here and score cheap points over last night's heavy loss to the Rabbitohs. I have too much respect for Wayne Bennett and the team, to know it is not beyond them to turn around form in one week.

I think Daniel Anderson will be smart enough to get it through to the team that they are an opposition to be respected.

But following all your talk in this and other threads, I think the vocal nature of your questioning of Parramatta's credentials appears to be nothing more than you trying to convince yourself that the Dragons are a better team, despite the fear that must be building up inside of you.

ie/ the louder your crap on about it, the more you hope to push this niggling doubt into the back of your mind.

Read Phil Gould's article on the Eels posted elsewhere here. He gives the team the kudos they deserve, and while he may come across as a bit of a mouthy clown at times, I would value his educated opinion on football far more than I would yours.

I haven't believed the Eels would win any of the last 7 games and after the Dragons were touched up last night i certainly don't give us any hope next week!

The Dragons will be switched on for this game and after they put 50 on us we will be begging the Knights to beat the Panthers......

we have to score first next week ... we get off to a good start and put some points on them and any confidence wayne gets back in their heads will start get overrun by questions ..... but we let them in then they'll switch back on and really believe in themselves again

I agree. I haven't seen the Dragons game, but was following the scores in disbelief. How ever badly the Dragons played, you can damn sure they won't play that badly next Friday. Bennet has seen all this before and knows what buttons to press to get the Dragons back on track.

One other thing I'm worried about is now that we're in the 8 is a few parra players going into the game thinking the job is done. It only takes one or two and the dragons take advantage.

The key thing is getting our defense right. Dragons have score 8 points in 160 minutes of football. the longer we can keep them out, the more frustrated they get and frustration leads to mistakes. Mistakes we can hopefully capitilise from.

Thee eels would have wanted the dragons to win, if they wanted a chance of winning

to be honest i cant seee the eels getting close to the dragons

The Eels couldn't care less, they have just focused on their own games. You pillock Dragon fans were too busy worrying about the Eels game before you even kicked off against Souths.
That's funny I can't see the Dragons losing 3 games in a row and struggling to get into double digits on the scoreboard...
I definitely can't see them getting toweled by an injury ravaged Souths side...

Yeah I think I actually heard DA commenting on how he would much rather the team playing like we were at the start of the season when we were losing...

You are right though, the Dragon's don't need to lift for next week. Why would they were just outclassed by a superstar side last night, other than that they are going great...

Dragon's last 5 grand final appearances, 0 wins...the choke is back

Yeah you are in great form, can't score a try for your lives, and losses to powerhouse teams such as the Raiders and Bunnies. Exactly what the Dragons need running into the finals. Winning streaks are overated anyway...

Gaba, take it easy on the turps for awhile.

You have a right to be confident and all because Parra can choke just as good as the Dragons but the comment in bold surey has to be for sh*ts and giggles on your part?

If you really believe it then you know nothing about footy!

There is nothing to suggest that Parra aren't up to the task next friday. I am confident they can win but won't slit a wrist if they don't. If anything, on current form, the Dragons are the ones who should be worried, but again, their season is guaranteed a healthier finals position that Parra's regardless of the result.
