st george would be nothing without the steelers

Do you have any clue? St George saved the steelers by merging with them. Steelers would be history without St George.

Steelers, they get no credit or recognition in that joint venture.

Yeah they do.

With the shorts and socks.

I like the way they say Steelers get no recongnition, want do you wnat them to do, give them the whole jersey? & like they are gonna put the Steelers logo above the St.George one.

no but they could play in the steelers jersy for half the season or when they are at win

When the joint venture was first formed, it was in the understanding that the Red V was non-negotiable. Then the NRL says all teams must have one, and the club agrees heartily, as they can now sell something different from the Red V that most fans had. Unlike other clubs, the Dragons jersey hasn't changed significantly for 30 or so years. (And is still one of the highest selling strips.) We played all of '99 with the Red V, we don't clash with anyone, the whole thing is about the cash.
Whilst I like the Steelers jersey aesthetically, I also like the Chooks and Bulldogs jersey, and don't see the need to have another teams jersey as an alternative.
As to wearing it at WIN, that is definately out of the question IMO, especially considering Win gets more home games than Kogarah.
St George Illawarra Dragons, not Steelers.
Anyway the club ran a comp for the alternate strip, and as far as I know, it will the design done by John "Buzz Boy" Butler.

Sould be the Steelers strip. They only wear it a couple of times a year,I dont see what the big deal is.I understands the Saints part of the deal are very jealous of their jersey and traditions, but surely with the amount of players that Illawarra provides they should be given this very small piece of recognition.......

Why do people think anyone even cares about other clubs opinions?

They have no investment, emotionally or financially , in our club, only a vested interest as someone who barracks for another side.

Im sure willow wont mind me saying the only real place to find out what Saints fans think, is "-

http://groups.msn.com/WorldofRugbyLeague/dragons.msnw

and

the st george egroup.

Everything else is bread and circuses

That msn site is the most anti-Illawarra forum on the net. Their opinions mean sweet f*ck all and dont represent the majority of St George Illawarra fans.

Theres over 7500 members on that site.

More people than they used to get to Steelers games.

And despite what you think the site is extremely fair.

Well if that's more than what the Steelers used to get, you St.George lot must of had really small crowds.
Illawarra had bigger home crowd averages 9 seasons to 8 compared with St.George. (Not bad considering the way we struggled to get established... as you always remind us).

This is not the time or place for this argument.

Its about making sound marketing and management decisions which will impact on the clubs true fans. Why would you dilute the most recognised jumper in the world, to get a couple of malcontented whinges to go toe two games a year instead of one.

Your opnion and the opinions of other clubs fans mean nothing as you have no investment in the side I follow.

Coz you are nothing but a sour spoiler.

And aim your anger at Steelers inept management and not at St George leagues Club members who have pumped over 9 million into Steelers over the years and offered them a 50/50.

f**k off and follow someone else.

Oh thats right, you already have.
