This is not the time or place for this argument.

Its about making sound marketing and management decisions which will impact on the clubs true fans. Why would you dilute the most recognised jumper in the world, to get a couple of malcontented whinges to go toe two games a year instead of one.

Your opnion and the opinions of other clubs fans mean nothing as you have no investment in the side I follow.

Coz you are nothing but a sour spoiler.

And aim your anger at Steelers inept management and not at St George leagues Club members who have pumped over 9 million into Steelers over the years and offered them a 50/50.

f**k off and follow someone else.

Oh thats right, you already have.

As for that $8.(something)mil, it's a loan which means you'll get it back with interest. not only that, but it was used to strengthen the Steelers Club (which already makes a considerable contribution) so that they can become equal financial contributers (which will save St.George more money... at the end of the day, you gain).

Also, the Steelers have brought along a region with business and corporate backers that put more than their share into the joint venture (though quite a few left after the merger)...
Marketing issues:
- Illawarra Region wanning in Dragons support. Steelers Heritage Day gets everyone excited and produces a record crowd. Became the talk of the town. With one simple move so many more people would be back - increasing revenue.
- The Illawarra Region provides plenty of corporate support, the likes the St.George district doesnt have. Large industrial firms and media sponsorship and support that could be consolidated (and win back the many businesses that don't support the merger) with one simple initiative.
- The population of the Greater Illawarra Region is over 400,000. With one simple move, this area would feel much more of an affinity with the Dragons than is currently the case. This would have an obvious marketing benefit.

I could go on, but I feel that my style doesn't suit your much preferred way of using abusive language and denigrating remarks.

You are spot on- Illawarra is the growth region in all areas, so if the Dragons want future success, they will have to ensure this area is represented in all ways- especially with home games.

I am a Parra supporter, but i appreciate your club as one of the best followed and popular clubs, and i hope that any politics within is cast aside to allow the Dragons to use Wollongong as their major base in the future for economical reasons and juniors, population growth are greater here than in little Kogarah!

GAMEFIRST, no point discussing it with SteelerMan - he doesnt even support the Dragons.

He is just a shit stirrer with his rags on because the club he followed was poorly financially managed.

You'd think he'd have a bit mroe respect for the people who came and saved his side.

As for Kogarah/WIN it will be 50/50 soon and the whole thing can be put to bed and we'll start winning some Premierships.

I think they should wear the 'Red V' at their Kogarah games and the Steelers jersey whenever they play at Wollongong.

2 jersey for one team, what rubbish

Doing that would maintain the motion that St.George Illawarra is 2 teams instead of one

st george would be nothing without the steelers

Do you have any clue? St George saved the steelers by merging with them. Steelers would be history without St George.

Yeha well i saw on the news a couple of days back that by 2008, its gunna be the St George Leagues club that are gunna be in financial difficulty, not the Steeleres Leagues Club.

BTW, Steelers for mine, although i was a Dragons fan before the JV, I agree, the Steelers part of the merger gets no recognition. I mean more than 1/2 the team is from the Illawarra (or atleast played with the Steelers before the JV).

The loan is 8.9. There is no interest to pay. You have no money to pay it back. Steelers has only started to be more financial but its nowhere near the 1 million projected. St george leagues hold the deeds to Steelers.

Also, the Steelers have brought along a region with business and corporate backers that put more than their share into the joint venture (though quite a few left after the merger)..

Who? Crystal Bears? LOL.
Oki, hard yakka, st george bank are all national brands and dont have HQ in Wollongong

Why would be do that when the crowds at OKI bigger? And the corpoarte support is bigger in Sydney. Where is BHP, where is IMB? Where is the Gov Employees Health Fund, where's Heard McKewan.

i98 and Win and the Mercury are all contra clients. They're too poor, or mean to pay.

I could go on

You could. but you dont have any facts to argue with. If you follow a new team, thats great. Good luck to you both.

But the minute you dump your first love, dont go bad mouthing her around twon. You may find her brothers might have a word or two to say to you about it. And sit you on your arse [/quote]

I voted steelers jersey, but really I would prefer the Steelers jersey to be the main one and the Red V only used on special occassions, e.g. the last game of 2008 for the ten year anniversary of the death of St George.

St.George Illawarra Dragons is one team

One F*cking team

This means 1 jersey, 1 away jersey

I have no problems with having 2 homegrounds at WIN & Jubilee because that's where our supporter bases are

You're a nuffy

At least Dragons can have debates like this, at least we have a history prior to this merger to be proud of, unlike you who have no history to look to at all

Hey at least we have a jersey, unlike Sharks for who it changes every 2nd year or so because they think they need more money. You don't have a consistent jersey because it represents nothing, reflecting your losing culture

lol: Oh ET, Cant we wear it pleeeezzeeeee. How about when Peter Gow comes back? or when Chris Anderson wins his court case? Or when Toyota take over your club as their lunch room. Or your club destroys the last living part of Towra Point by building the ET Retirement Home. ;-)

Because once again it creates the impression we are 2 teams instead of 1.

I'm not saying this in favour of St.George, I'm not saying this in favour Illawarra, I'm saying this in favour of ST.GEORGE ILLAWARRA

Settle down, son. It was aimed at (wo)Man of Steel and NQ Boy. Go back and check.

I think having a full season ticket is a great thing. If this is going to be a bird, it better have two wings
