Its about making sound marketing and management decisions which will impact on the clubs true fans. Why would you dilute the most recognised jumper in the world, to get a couple of malcontented whinges to go toe two games a year instead of one.
Your opnion and the opinions of other clubs fans mean nothing as you have no investment in the side I follow.
Coz you are nothing but a sour spoiler.
And aim your anger at Steelers inept management and not at St George leagues Club members who have pumped over 9 million into Steelers over the years and offered them a 50/50.
f**k off and follow someone else.
Oh thats right, you already have.
As for that $8.(something)mil, it's a loan which means you'll get it back with interest. not only that, but it was used to strengthen the Steelers Club (which already makes a considerable contribution) so that they can become equal financial contributers (which will save St.George more money... at the end of the day, you gain).
Also, the Steelers have brought along a region with business and corporate backers that put more than their share into the joint venture (though quite a few left after the merger)...
Marketing issues:
- Illawarra Region wanning in Dragons support. Steelers Heritage Day gets everyone excited and produces a record crowd. Became the talk of the town. With one simple move so many more people would be back - increasing revenue.
- The Illawarra Region provides plenty of corporate support, the likes the St.George district doesnt have. Large industrial firms and media sponsorship and support that could be consolidated (and win back the many businesses that don't support the merger) with one simple initiative.
- The population of the Greater Illawarra Region is over 400,000. With one simple move, this area would feel much more of an affinity with the Dragons than is currently the case. This would have an obvious marketing benefit.
I could go on, but I feel that my style doesn't suit your much preferred way of using abusive language and denigrating remarks.
