- Home Jersey = St George Dragons Old Strip
- Alternate = Illawarra Steelers Old Strip

That is a true Joint (meaning the coming together of two things) Venture.

This is the problem when the debate brings in those with limited knowledge.
The main points of the JV agreement were clear...
1.) The team: the St George Illawarra Dragons (not the St George Illawarra Dragons Steelers).
2.) The home ground: 50/50 split Kogarah & Wollongong (Kogarah still getting short changed here).
3.) The jersey: Red V.

BOTH sides AGREED to this. This is the true Joint Venture agreement.
Live with it.

Kogarah is getting short changed cause the ground isn't up to standards.
The Home Jersey is the Red V.
The Away Jersey......A jersey that represents the Illawarra region that the team plays for. What's the huge problem with that?

My ass this is a joint venture. By the sounds of it, they should call it a Take over.

Oh and for your information,

Raiders still have their Queanbeyan Leagues Club in Queanbeyan. But in case you hadn't noticed, we are called the Canberra Raiders, so we play out of Canberra. At least we didn't play at the SFS as our home matches in a totally different area. :lol:

Also, why should we play in forrest green?

In 1982, our first jersey was Lime Green, as it is now. You can clearly see we have returned to our tradition. The Queanbeyan Leagues club also holds a majority of the share in the club.

So as you can see, I just squeezed your head, cleared all the shit out of it, and put all the correct information for you.

It's all about returning to the correct ways Rugby League should be, and if that means St George Illawarra, finally embracing the Illawarra part the way it should have been done, then so be it.

If the Dragons have to have an alternate strip, to be worn occassionally, what's the problem with the Steelers jersey?

Because it's not part of the agreement.

Also because it creates far too much division amongst supporters. The evidence is in this thread and in other threads in the Dragons section.

When the current blood and bandages 'away' jersey was proposed in 2000, a survey was done amongst fans and it went through without a hitch.
When the Steelers jersey was used for a 'one-off' match this year, I saw it split the fans. It went from being a novelty to a squabble in next to no time.

Man of Steel 1982 posted this thread here to exploit that division. He freely admits that he wants to see the destruction of the joint venture.
Of course this is his opinion and there's no loss of respect on my part. But it does illustrate the divisive nature of the proposal.

Quite simply, Canberra got such a large junior area because there are no other teams around. Who would it be more suited to?
