Storm keen to get edge over Rhinos

Ryan Hoffman and his family go back a long way with Melbourne Storm mentor Craig Bellamy and if the NRL's reigning premiership coach has made a decision on his future, the representative back-rower isn't aware of it.
Bellamy is chewing over a deal offered by St George Illawarra, believed to be worth $6 million over five years, to join the Dragons in 2014.
However, Bellamy is behaving very much as normal during the Storm's pre-season training and the cloud hanging over the coach's future is not affecting the squad, says Hoffman, who's father Jay was a former Canberra teammate of the former NSW coach.
"When 'Bellyache' (Bellamy) is ready to tell us something, he will.
"There's no point speculating about something we don't know anything about. He still works hard in his office and on the field.
"He's still there early in the morning in the gym working hard.
"On the field if we aren't doing the things that he wants he certainly lets us know so there hasn't been any change in his demeanour at all."
The Storm have a trial game against the Raiders in Geelong on February 8 before leaving for England three days later for the World Club Challenge against Leeds Rhinos at Headingley Carnegie on February 22.
Hoffman, who rejoined the Storm last year, has played in four World Club Challenges including the 2011 clash for Wigan against St George Illawarra.
And the big back-rower says Melbourne are keen to get an edge over the Rhinos in front of a partisan home crowd after a win and a loss in two previous encounters in 2008 and 2010.
"I've been part of the Australian side and part of the English side as well. I know the English fans love it," he said.
"There's going to be cold and snow but that's part of the joy of going over to England in February.
"Everyone is trying to find that extra one per cent.
"Sports science is the closest way of doing that. The club has been trying new things.
"We've got that altitude chamber in there but there's also other avenues with sleep and all that sort of stuff."
