Hi guys

Since David Peachy is now on the look out i do realize his not intrested in Playing for the NRL anymore . But maybe if the CEO'S of the executive board made peachy apart of the club so he could continue his chairty work and so on he might be intrested in staying .

Plus i think something needs to be done about Greenshields . We have been having problems with our back lines ever since Ben Hornby was mooved to Halfback and even though that was a good moove . I think a Specalist fullback is once again needed . Dont get me wrong on his good days Greenshields is awsome but those good days are very few and far between . Maybe in a few more years he might be ready for 1st grade , but i dont think greenshields handles pressure to well .

Welcome backtobasics.

This has got to be a gee-up...

Who are you trying to kid? Greenshields is already a superior full-back to Peachey in every department, except experience...

It is a gee up, given Peachey said he'd never play against the scum in the NRL, so it's UK or retire for Peachy!!!

I can't believe scum management wouldn't let one of their greatest sons retire on his own terms?

I had originally thought Peachey wanted to go to the UK himself for a "superannuation top up", but after hearing him last night on the footy show it appears he really wants to play another season at the Scum, but the club (management and raper) don't want him.

I wouldn't go that far. Greenshields is probably a better defensive fullback, but Peachey is superior to most players in terms of attacking ability.

We'll agree to disagree Godz Illa.

I think that Peachey WAS a brilliant attacking player. Not now...

i really feel sorry for the sharks on this topic.

how they can let their club's greatest on/off field asset go so cruely stinks.

as much as their club reaks, i hate great servants of the game being shafted.

So please Explain , Collin Best ?

I'd say Colin Best is having his best season in the NRL.
I don't know if he ever scored 14 tries in a season at the Sharks - did he?

If Colin Best had a season like 2005 playing for the Scum, he'd have been crowned an "Immortal" by now...

Steve Rogers

call it a Gee up if you like, His simply a player i would like to see in a red and white jerzy , I didnt say Greenshields was a bad fullback i just said he wasnt ready for 1st grade .in 3 years time why not . I think thier are other Lower grade players that need to be bought up into firstgrade rather then greenshields . Holsworth is a fine example of that . But yes Peachy is Unhappy with the Nrl Due to the absence of Club Loyalte . I think he might find that with the Dragons .

Greensheilds is great but in high pressure games his peformance lacks , his not constant , he either has really good games or really bad ones . Peachy however constently peformer's and boost's players around him , i only need to bring up Greenshields against the Tigers .If we serisly want to be premiers this year or even in 2006 or 2007 we really need to work on our backs .

Wes is brilliant but like Laurie Daily said "He goes from good to Bad then Good" . Once we get a constent line up on our wings and fullback . If Wes ,Collin Best and David Peachy worked togther with our center combernation of Gasiner , Cooper and Barret and Horny as play makers imagine how Unstoble our guys would be with our current front line .

Also how likely would it be for the dragons to make a Pass at Hazel El Mazri ?, I know its been tried in the past , But i even think in our own club their has been some concern with our back's

We'd never be able to afford to fit elite wingers into our side & abide by the salary cap.

Not rubbishing Wes or Best in any way, but they wouldn't be on a third of the money most of the players inside them.

Greenshields is going as well as could be expected, IMO.
He has had to step into an NRL spot maybe a year before the club had planned...
I'd never sacrifice the development of a rising star (ready for NRL or not) for the sake of a veteran from another club.

If he wanted to play for the Dragons (& he never would), he'd need to be on a Premier League salary, in the Premier League side.

I'd rather see him end up in an NRL side who would best utilise his experience & ability, & cut the Sharks up twice a year...

Maybe Souths could use some of their spare dollars & offer him a 2 year deal, with a career in football afterwards...

I understand that Greenshields has one one the best kick return / metres gained stats in the League. I hope we hang onto him.

And sorry BTB, but I can't possibly bite on the Peachey idea.

I'm not sure I understand why you would want to blood a player like Holdsworth, who has already signed with the Bulldogs over Greenshields, probably the best performing Premier League halfback going around. He has done nothing but impress, in whatever circumstances.

Even if we were to pick apart the mistakes he's made this year, it would be no more than any other full back I'd imagine, and then you've only got to compare the metres he makes to any others and the sensational job Clint is doing becomes blindingly obvious.

I think we are extremely lucky to have a kid like him who has stepped up like he has. I can't see a long term spot for him with Hornby around, but the longer we can have him in the works can only serve to benefit us.

If we wish to keep the firepower we already have, as brokendigit was getting at, we need to work with what we've got in weaker areas. Personally I can't ask much more from Best, Wes and Greenshields. Full credit to them for managing to shine amongst a team full of superstars.

As much as i rate the peach, we don't need him. And as he said on the footy show last night, he couldnt play for another NRL club. If any of the #1, 6, 7 pos's are injured we can cover them quite well.

Lets concentrate on securing most of those guys off contract at the end of 2006.

Now, I'll be off then, heading down to WIN. I'll be on the hill, you can't miss me - I'll be the one in Red & White.

Ciao!!

We don't need Peachy Greenshields is doing fine for now. Hornby will simply slot back into fullback next season when Head comes back. nothing much more needs to be said. And we dont need any more wingers. We only got rid of Youngquest last week and I thought he was OK. We are OK at the moment I think we should just concentrate on keeping what we got. Dont forget our flegg side is going great guns. If it ain't broke dont fix it.

Greenshields, halfback??
Don't know about that. He's a damn good full back imo, second to Hornby, and getting better with each match.

Given our run with half backs and five eighths and Hornby's ability to slot in, I'm pretty sure Greenshields will get his opportunities in first grade next year. That's if he stays.
