I heard on one of the televised ISP games that Ravalawa got injured in Round 15 and didn't play for the rest of the year. I don't know what the injury was.

He's 184cm and 93Kg. He turns 21 on 9 Nov this year.

He made 13 appearances for the Mounties this year and scored 11 tries (5 in one game as mentioned earlier in this thread). He had 2 try assists, 67 tackle breaks and 13 line breaks from 178 receipts.

He averaged 141.5 metres/game. He also made 36 tackles and 11 missed tackles for a tackling efficiency of 72.1%

In 2017 Ravalawa scored 12 tries in 22 games and won Canberra's under 20s player of the year award.

He originally played rugby union and captained the Fijian under-18's rugby sevens side. He was spotted by Peter Mulholland who recruited him for Canberra.

He was also in the 2017 Rugby League World Cup squad for Fiji but made no appearances.

Is he Mary's replacement? I am confused.

Shouldn't we be focusing on a recruitment of a proven coach and not some unproven player?

Don't get me wrong, he seems like a talent, but this is not going to solve anything.

Dragons to sign Fijian flyer

Some good news for the Dragons in the wake of last weekend’s heart-breaking loss to Souths - the club has landed Fiji’s World Cup flyer Mikaele Ravalawa for 2019.

The club has been in talks with the Canberra youngster for months and an announcement is imminent.

Ravalawa could be the man to replace veteran winger Jason Nightingale in coming seasons.

Mikaele Ravalawa in action at the Commonwealth Youth Games in 2015.
At just 20, he is a real crowd pleaser who scored five tries in one game for Raiders feeder club Mounties earlier this year and was the club’s top try scorer for the season.

Fast and strong, he’s set to continue the tradition of exciting Fijian wingers in the NRL.

ADMIN NOTE: The above URL link was edited in by a moderator. It's not that hard to do while you're posting. But it is bloody annoying when we have members who repeatedly think it's someone else's job. It's in the rules, and most members are real good about it. But some just don't get it.
As TruSaint mentioned, this was raised months ago on this forum. A typical effort by The Mole to claim it as a scoop.

Decent signing, will at least provide a bit of depth. Squad already looking better for next season with Korbin Sims replacing Ah Mau. Lomax stepping up and possibly Lawrie and Leilua doing the same. I’ll be interested to see how the wing and centre positions play out next season. There’s a lot of competition for those positions

You mean to say Saints won’t be acquiring Oates and/or Tupou?

I’m shocked.

Perhaps I’m a little finicky, but I prefer recruits to have first grade experience before my interest is piqued. It’s not unlike the situation with the current coach, who was appointed without any established NRL credentials.

Tupou is unavailable, Oates wants to stay with Bennett and his asking price is massive.

Don't believe everything you read. Especially what you read here.
