Gee, no wonder they couldn't wait to fire Vaughan.

Agreed, they used Vaughan's contract breach as a means to out him knowing he's on a pretty penny and they've been in talks with cheaper options.

How JDB didn't have his torn up after all the shit the club has stuck by him for only for him to go out and do that shit, it's a pure case of the better player gets a bit of leniency.

Darius Boyd, Karmichael Hunt and Sam Thaiday all wanted to say hi.

Ian Lacey & John Te Reo would but they were shown the door in an instant. Ironic hey.

Best individual try you are likely to see. Against incredible opposition.

That bloody Duffy lost the ball only for the athletic Brown to pick up to score .

Hook needs to play him at fullback !

Mate you are spot on.
You know what Darren Lockyer used to be into though right?
It’s pretty common knowledge….

What shit did JDB do apart from hiding and a little white lie that 100's of Aussies are caught doing everyday breaching Covid rules and in doing so are a greater risk out there in the community if you listen to the health experts.
What is ther punishment outside a $1000 fine..they lie to the police tyring to making excuses.
People crossed borders hiding in cars, trucks, planes trying to sneak through.
Many have breached..not too many have lost their jobs over it.
I starting to thinking that breaking lockdown is the crime of the century.

If you look at with that view, yeah it seems harsh.. but it's not that at all, it's the fact they are trying to keep the comp active amidst a pandemic and all it takes is a screw up or two similar to this one for the government to decide to shut up shop.

When this pandemic was running wild across other parts of the world everything stopped, not just the ability to see your mates but EVERYTHING, sport was basically a non-event in Europe when covid was rampant. We've been lucky and as we hit the winter it's no coincidence it's starting to show up in this part of the world. It's much harder to contain in these conditions than it would be in the warmer climate.

It's not about abiding the rules of your average citizen, it's about giving the government enough confidence in the clubs to know they'll do the right thing, that's why they've handed down the big penalties here.

Agree and they got that, but tearing a contract up on a 1st offence for beaching Covid was never going to nor should it happen.
Wayne Bennett ring a bell
PV's punishment made sense 3 xxx
In regards to what they did no one nor the NRL was at risk if true only bubble boys / girls there
The government did not make a song and a dance about it, only the NRL journos
If at worst..Dragons forfeit a game if someone got Positive and they then remain 14 days isolated.
They are tested nearly daily these guys and have had the jab.

I'm not comparing clubs, just stating the obvious.
Just like I did, Twinsies!!

Let's look at better/high profile players getting leniency re: multiple covid breaches.

Paul Vaughan two breaches - sacked immediately the second breach comes to light.

TPJ - Multiple breaches, threats leaked by the club to the media of a sacking in August 2020 obviously nothing but a PR excercise. Incoming coach Kev "yeah I'm an old boy" Walters couldn't stand the thought of losing one of his most talented forwards. So Brisbane terminate his contract, but suspends the termination for 12 months. As per usual nada eventuates, normality resumes.

The NRL need to implement a standard rule, if a player is sacked and he has 18 months to run on his contract. They should not register a new contract until the period of the previous contract expires. Easy fix to the current laughable situation.

A friend indicated 1.65 over 3yrs for Su’a. Anybody confirm? And if so is that a little over considering he is struggling to get a start atm? Good player clearly, but some risk here?
