I’m not a professional rugby league coach so if our club wants to sign him until proven otherwise I’ll say great. We have seen what he can do and if he does that for us he will be a great signing. So, where does Jack Bird play? The only option I see is bench utility competing with Mbye. He only has one more year on his contract so I wonder if he won’t be offered another contract.

Manly can’t afford to keep him it’s that simple, they have cap problems, lots of upgrades to happen. Curtis Sironen gone as well. They will be paying for some of his contract as well. Great deal for us. Players with his ball carrying power don’t come along everyday. Who’s the last outside back we’ve had that runs as hard and skittles defenders as he can??

Jack Bird would make a good 14 but maybe a little too highly-priced for that role. I have no idea why the Dragons sign Mbye.

I'd say a Lomax / Suli centre pairing would be a great move. Back that up with Max Feagai and I think we have a winner. Beale is past it and needs to go to allow our young outside backs room to develop.

I suppose Mbye is backup for Sloan at fullback.

Manlys cap is top loaded. 4-5 players are in huge money. Like 2 are at 1 million plus and 3 at 8-900 grand. That’s 4 million or more for 5 players. So imagine what the other say 25 are earning to fit into another 4 million. They also have Fainu who would want good coin if he returns

I like this signing. For too long our backline, (with the exception of Dufty and Ravalawa close to the line) has been quite impotent. If this signing is confirmed than we now have a big body who when in form is a real attacking weapon. If he can play to his potential players around him will also benefit. Fingers crossed this is the case and that’s how it plays out.

I think he back ends them instead of front ends them and leaves the next bloke having to release half the roster and not buy anyone for 3 years so they can get under the cap.

Sorry mate. But besides Lomax, what other junior do we have that’s a gun player who can play first grade next year? I can’t think of any…I think we need to bring in some top quality players if we don’t have them already.

Had Griffin stuck by his “developing juniors policy” he proclaimed when he got hired, we might have one by now..

But with no CC cup the last few years, they’ve completely been left aside… in favour of Beale coming back, and now signing this bloke…

It may work out. Suli has had more starts than Phar Lap but a record like Mr Ed.. We’ll see if that changes.

We don't have a specialist left centre in the club as far as I know. At one stage SSE was touted as a real possibility, however, he quit football for personal reasons. Williame plays left centre but was injured for most of the season and now he moves on to French Rugby.

Suli is a left centre - no brainer actually. Anyone we have would be playing JF and with that competition suspended again, none of our juniors in that position are ready.

My only concern with Suli is his defense. He can get very lazy. Nothing wrong with his attack. He's only 23 and at 1.89m and 109kg, he can cause some damage.
