No champ. You don't defend a lead with 30 minutes left to play, you keep playing the same way you did to get that lead.

12 points is only 2 tries and with 30 minutes left that's plenty of time for a team to come back from. We played dumb footy and let them back in the game.

They also clicked up a gear and showed us how shit we really are.

I don't agree with you champ. The team has degenerated under Price. I am positive Bellamy, Hasler, Bennett would all have been critical in pressers of their teams if their performances were akin to ours this year.
He was refused to make changes that needed to be made until it was too late.

I believe the team would play with more heart than a team that is being told "the effort was there. Our execution was off....."

this is absolutely right. Craig Bellamy does not mince his words when communicating his expectations of his Players in press conferences. Hasler is a little more polite, but has been seen taring a door off it's hinges in communicating his disgust at the performance of his players. That's just what we've seen. I dare say he's thrown a few chairs in his time off camera.

Wayne Bennett is an exception. He can only get away with it because he is the most successful coach of all time. Otherwise, watching his interviews as the supporter of a now rival club, his contempt for the press, well frankly disgusts me, but such is the arrogance displayed by some who have achieved success over such a long period of time (I don't respect that either).

That aint Steve Price yet.

Now you don't have to describe anyone as useless. That's just degrading. But you can call a spade a spade in a manner to challenge an individual rather than dellude them into thinking it's acceptable.

Does Steve Price looking like a boy sitting in front of the Principal's Office in trouble inspire confidence ...to anyone ?

In Sport, like in business, you are what people think you are ...unless of course you have the results (on the field) to prove otherwise.

Well, for all my criticism of Steve Price's Coaching especially his interview, he DID say something which I thought was honest (and accurate) in saying with a 12 pt lead established we went on to Play like a Team trying to come from behind to win - dumb. Hence why i thought it was a better interview.

Plus he said "ARSE" loud and clear.

Something about where we were trying to pull a pass out off or rather...?!

...hehe ...Maybe that WAS Merrin's pep talk ?!

Price was left frustrated that at when they were up 20-8 they did not control the game. Well he has himself to blame because the man that was the best at kicking the team out of difficult situations, playing field position etc was released to go to England. He has himself to blame for that because he had no back up. He did not know how to use him, shattered his confidence and then when it was too late dropped him until he left the club.

Price was given a very good side and made them an average side easy as that. The current squad still has 10 players that were in the 2010 Grand Final squad. He was no given a rabble like Stuart and asked to perform miracles. The current squad is not a bottom 3 roster but are simply playing like one and that is the coaches fault. Fein is playing half because he has been asked to fill in the role he is not demanding it and that is simply the coaches fault.

Without Dugan they would be last. Parra has won more home games than the Dragons.

The more we lose hopefully the closer we get to removing Price from the coaching role.

God, your original point was putting the finger on the Dogs' dominant forwards, implying that no matter what we did, their forwards were going to win them the game, even from 20-8 behind. By defend, I mean maintain and build upon the lead. So yes, you are now agreeing with me. We started playing dumb, by forcing low percentage passes and etc, as if we were chasing a game, which lead to silly, preventable errors in our own half. We're finally on the same page. If we just played smarter, we would have won.

How long before Creagh is dropped? Haven't heard him called all night, but I suppose he is executing the coaches plan to a tee, no effort in attack or defense !

a few things from tonight:
1. hopefully that puts and end to any further talk of Vea and Ah Mau. both are not first grade standard.

2. when the momemtum started to really turn second half i noticed after the bulldogs try Creagh was standing by himself behind the posts sipping on a drink bottle... it was the perfect moment for the captain to stand up and give the team a rev-up... he went missing in action.

3. stating the obvious here but no matter who we sign next season with Price in charge the players will not reach the potential.

4. Dugan is a one man team in attack..

I didn't think Ah Mau was bad, but Vea certainly was.

Mitch Rein is awful. Kills us in attack and his defence is also poor. When he doesn't miss them or fall off, they get quick play the balls on him.

That said, the game was in our grasp. We threw it away.

I saw at the start we were starting with Vidot & Green as our centres, game over before it began (even though they werent as diabolical as normal), I find it laughable that Greens fumbling was mistaken for classy centre play.

On top of that Chase's goalkicking, you dont beat quality sides scoring 4 at a time, but thats not Price's fault.. its just very frustrating we dont have a better option than Duges, whos a very big but inaccurate boot.

Having said that was a couple of glimmers of hope in there.. Quinlan made a few errors but was trying all night, geez that was a ball to Vidot.. not sure if it was just lucky lol... and well my son was born this morning, so I didnt really care too much about a dead rubber football game... im quite relieved he wont remember the Price era lol.

Green's fumble wasn't far from where I was ,and I thought he showed composure to pass that ball to Flo while trying to have control of the ball,i thought that was Green's best game I have seen from him.
It was also clear the Dogs were targeting Vidot in defence.

...was at the game, another sorry excuse for a well drilled team out there, and to basically throw away the game when the Dogs were stuffing up, all we had to do was hold the ball, get repeat set, or nice kick in simple for most teams, but we managed to turn that momentum into being on back foot.

Our forwards are tiny in comparison to Dogs....Pritchard, Kasiano, Trex, all giants.

This is where the value of a quality half will win games.To make the correct decisions and guide the team around.We should have started to try and complete sets and frustrate them,but fell in the trap and tried to match them with expansive play leading to errors and turn over possession.
We don't play smart .

Price was critical of the team on MMM after the game basically saying the team played sh*t when they hit the lead.
It was something like "we played out of our arse".

unfortuantely that type of play is what has gotten us our wins this season. its been on the back of ad-lib play with zero structure. if this has been the only way the team has managed to jag a win (and be praised for it) then obviously this is what they will revert to when in doubt.
