changes need to be made but I dont think our selectors have the balls to make too many

unfortunately out of form Lee is up in the pecking order, possibly only Siddle but he is a work in progress

Johnson was a work in progress and with two players in Lee and Clark generally leading the way it worked out ok. Siddle on the other hand can't be carried with Lee out of form. How he jumped Bollinger for a spot is ridiculous and should never have happened in the first place.

Drop Siddle and Krezja for Melbourne, bring in Hilfenhaus and Bollinger. There is enough spin options if Clarke, Symonds and Katich are used.

Reconsider the bowling attack for the Sydney Test - Hauritz should get a shot ahead of Krezja.

Hauritz or Dan Cullen should be the spinner right now. Kreija has struggled in FC cricket and one performance where in the same test the Indian spinners were turning it square will not change this. He was shocking in Perth. It is not that he did not get wickets, but how many full tosses and rank long hops did he bowl. At least Hauritz will not bowl long hops, same with Cullen.

dan cullen has struggled in shield cricket to the point where he lost his place in the WORST domestic team ... HE LOST HIS PLACE IN THE WORST DOMESTIC TEAM

and this is the man you want in the team

you can't over bowl simon katich though and then expect him to open the batting

Cullen FC form hasn't been too fancy itself. Hauritz is going alright but we might as well see what Krejza can do on less bouncy wickets like the MCG and SCG before casting him aside.

If anything the bouncy wickets would favour Kreija as he is a tall off spinner. Cullen and Hauritz at least won't go at 4-5 runs per over!

At least Cullen is economical. I actually think Hauritz is our best bet, he got 3 crucial wickets including Khan who is a test player with a really good ball. We need a spinner that won't go at 5 runs per over.

Maybe, pick Haurie for Sydney, but not Melbourne. It looks like another dead track to me.

Jon Holland (Victorian leg spinner) has done well this year. There is spin in the pitch. I hate the 4 quicks idea, boring!

Well for Krejza it lead to him bowling long hops. I don't remember many deliveries where he bowled short in India.

Actually he did bowl a lot of long hops in India, it is just that he did produce more "wicket balls", that was definately helped by the pitches turning square though!

He got Alma out in similar fashion to the way he got a number of wickets in India. Hes got the ball to do it, just a matter of consistency.

There lies the problem. We can't have a bowler that bowls 1 ball in 100. He leaks way too many runs. I am not expecting a Warne, but I am expecting our spinner to not get carted to every corner of the ground like Kreija was. He was eith short, too full, too far down leg, too far outside off. Not to mention he barely got the batsmen driving and he does not have a arm ball. There is serious flaws in his bowling. I'd rather Hauritz or Cullen who at the least will only go for 2-3 runs an over. Hauritz pitches more balls in the right areas and if conditions suit will bowl well. That should be all we want for our spinner at the moment while McGain gets back from injury.

McGain is almost 37. How much longer will he go?

a 37 year old with crook shoulders should never be considered

more f**king Victorian love from fat merv

we should be playing to our best stocks which means no spinner ... no use bowling a sh*t spinner for the sake of bowling a spinner

We need to be realistic here, McGain is the only one that screams that he COULD be a test quality spinner. I say pick him and hope that in the next two years (McGain would get us to the Ashes at least), hope that a young leg spinner comes through. I still have failth in Cullen Bailey and I believe he is the most naturally talented leg spinner there is. But he is 12-24 months away at least, Jon Holland is the other one.

McGain was the best spinner last season and is accurate.

Wonder if Brett Lee is still affected by his personal problems. Perhaps more of a break is what he needs.
