As for the rest of it, I couldn't give two f**ks. Who gives a shit about some woman he had an affair with that only got upset a year later after finding out he was married? The sexting stuff was a clear setup from the woman involved... Even the pixelation from Limited News attempt to protect her anonymity didn't do a good enough job of hiding the fact that she was laying naked on a bed.

A lot of this stinks of Limited News looking for their Mad Monday spike in newspaper sales.

The sexting thing was videoing and phiotoing. IT was no set up as the girl was not after publicity or money just an apology and for the club to be aware of what the players were up to.
I do agree that much of the stuff isn't out business but to me it verifies what I thought about the bloke all along. He is a disgraceful human being and an asshole.

Sorry dude, but I'm not buying it. When the woman's explanation is that she was just contacting him to let him know someone was using his photo on tinder and that she got all offended when he whips his dick out but manages to skip over the part of the story where she's laying naked on her bed, I have zero reason to trust anything she says.

.

She would be after money. News Ltd would have paid for the text messages. And what does she deserve an apology for?

This is no shit

I met Sam here in Brisbane when he was in town with the English test side just after their grand final win.

Got my photo with him and he was a great bloke to meet. Was happy to meet me and the missus. Haven’t got a bad word to say about him and I hope he’s doing alright.

Love how he suddenly thinks he’s all plastic gangsta.... ‘Dat Dewsbury Sam’ - what a throbber. With the way he talks about himself in those messages to his Mrs and his bit on the side, talking about what he should have/would have done, telling his Melbourne piece about him being such a senior player etc etc - made an absolute goose of himself. It’s proper cringe reading how he talks about himself, you can even tell from their replies that they’re embarrassed for him.

Agree. Like he needs everyone to look at him like his fellow footballers with fear/respect/intimidation. Just sounds like a bully big noting himself.

His aggression and physicality has put him on a pedestal since he was a teenager and dragged his family from Dewsbury to the bright lights of the NRL making them all a bit "celeb" and good money.

If any of the assault allegations are true I'm in no way condoning it or trying to excuse him of some blame. Just that being 'Slammin Sam' has gotten him and his family everything, maybe its the only tools he's got to handle tough situations.

when it originally came out it was reported that she only contacted the club and did not ask for money. She just wanted them to know that the players sent her unwanted photos that were inappropriate.
She wanted an apology because she did not want to be sent pictures of RL players in the nude

Maybe because she wasn't lying naked on her bed, that might just be BS put out by Souths and Burgess

While I agree the personal stuff should remain personal, Burgess himself made this kind of shit public 5-6 years ago in that 'Slammin Sam' doco puff piece bullshit Rusty supported. He made his own bed by portraying the image of being such a great lad etc etc that this became public interest, especially after the 2018 controversy

On the personal stuff, an affair is no business of the NRL for sure I get that, its Sams business. But it is also the business of the woman he is having an affair with and it is his wife business. If the wife or the girl chose to put that business out in the media that is their right and Sams problem. If it really hurts Sam having details of his affair published he should pick his women more carefully or maybe just dont have an affair.

Absolutely right. ‘Hell hath no fury like a woman scorned’.
He very publicly embarrassed his wife with the whole sexting thing - she stayed with him, and he then allegedly went on to treat her like dirt, both physically and emotionally. So, I’m not surprised when plenty other affairs have come to light, she’s pulled the rug very publicly, whether for revenge or to teach a lesson to all idiot footballers and their clubs.
Fair play to her.

I'm of the opinion that clubs covering up football player antics, especially a star player, is more likely to see fans turn away from the game than what it is that the player actually did.

Clubs and their administrations can be just as negligent when it comes to how these incidents are handled.

Soon fans will call bullshit whenever they hear "The club is aware of the matter and is cooperating with the NRL integrity unit".
