Crush, I am not saying that the abuse was acceptable.

Am merely saying I can understand and accept the frustration of the fans at the ground on a day that:

Flo is being farewelled for the last time at Kogarah

The club farewelled Lance Thompson

We were 4th and were playing for a top 4 spot

It was an emotion charged day

The team performance fell well below the expectation of our supporters and certainly well below the standard set by the coach and team at the beginning of the season

Yes correct. I heard booing in the tunnel there wasn't swearing at the players.

This thread sux.
Why anyone would hurl abuse at a football player as they walk up the tunnel after a heavy loss is appalling human behavior.
Nobody deserves that.
Total BS.

If you went to a concert, paid good money, and the performer put on a pathetic 5th class performance, I am pretty sure you would boo.

Their effort was embarrassing, there was no passion or committment, there was no heart.

Lose but put in is fair enough.

Lose and give what our team gave yesterday, every fan had the right to boo and scream.

Why do you constantly offer up excuses, apologies and blame others instead of Mary and the players.

Love to know your agenda.

Short answer is Mary should have had the guts to drop several backs and failed to do so well before the wheels fell off our billy cart.

The fan abuse venting their anger would have been better directed at Mary, as the players in question should have spent some time in ISP to regain their form. The players do not pick themselves.

Mary didn't give the ISP players the chance to seriously compete for spots during the season irrespective of how poorly various backs played..
Players like Aitken, Lafai and Nightingale did not play well the season prior to their extensions. Nightingale should not have been extended. The long service part of his salary could have gone to further subsidise De Belin's salary. On form Aitken and Lafai should have received a 1 year extension with an option for an additional year in the Clubs favour. I think Mary was inclined to keep selecting Aitken and Lafai even when their form was poor mainly because of the long term nature of their contracts.

So someone has posted hearsay on Twitter, and it’s gospel?

If it was a properly vetted peice posted on their employer’s news channel, I’d believe it.

You sound like a really awesome fan and the players must love you. I’m proud to wear the same colours as you.

So you didn’t hear one swear word, but yet you heard James Graham say f**k?

Or are you saying that James Graham, a professional footballer with media training, completely unprovoked and in front of children tell someone to f**k off?

I’ve got a swear word that relates to your story. It’s called “bullshit”
Wake up man.
Stop the fake bs.
Dead set you got to be Mary's and the clubs love child.

One massive apologist!!

I don't need to watch the game again. It was the most embarrassing performance I have ever seen. I was so depressed afterwards I went straight to bed.
What's your point?
Because it was an embarrassing performance that we are entitled to abuse players and question their integrity?
Thats not how I live my life mate or how I raise my kids. Imagine all the children at that match watching adults abusing the players as they leave the ground. Their heroes getting screamed at.
Rubbish behavior at a sporting event in my opinion.
Heroes?
Dead set tool.

You may be right about Mary but I still disagree that abuse should have been directed at anyone, even Mary.
If the players are trying to steal your car then abuse them. If Mary kicks your dog abuse him. But these guys are just 'attempting' the do their jobs, albeit very poorly. They don't deserve to have abuse screamed at them.
End of rant.
Almost no one agrees with you.
Less votes than the shooters party.

Badly ran organisations count on people like you crush.
You suffer without proactively protesting.
Grow a set!

My point is this was not an ordinary game. This was the game after Lance Thompson's sad death. This was the last home game of the year. This was Jason Nightingales last game at Kogarah. None of that seems to matter to the players, nor to you. It matters to most fans. It matters to me. And I totally understand why some people let their emotions get the better of them.

Why do you say none of those things matter to me? I just said less than 10 minutes ago that I was totally depressed after the loss.
Just because I disagree with people abusing players doesn't mean I wasn't affected by the performance.
And to say such things as thompsons death and nightys retirement didn't matter to the players, only the fans, is absolutely ridiculous.
Just have a think about that statement.

I'm telling you now, I was there, at the tunnel, waiting for the players to come off.
Yes they were booed from the feild, but the "torrents of personal abuse" people keep talking about just did not happen.
There was a lot of comments about "going back to" where ever a particular player came from, myself included to Nene and Lafai, there were no swearing used by me, nor did I hear any.
Everyone was well aware there were still kids around waiting for the players, there was a young mum in front of me waiting for Brett Morris to come up for a photo with her Bulldogs loving daughters. There was no abuse, I did mentioned that he may have been wearing the wrong jumper which only elicited a wry smile, but he was not abused.

I didn't even see Hunt come up the tunnel and heard no one personally swear or abuse him.

This abuse thing just did not happen.

Everyone needs to get off this kids back. He was great yesterday. Mary had a game plan and injuries cost the dragons. We need to extend dufty's contract soon so the loser supporters don't scare him away. He will play origin soon.

Dufty won’t be in the NRL next year

As idiotic posts go, yours is up there with the best of them.

I agree with Crush. Poor form from the fans.

I was pretty embarrassed to be a Dragons fan after the team's performance yesterday.

But the booing and abuse hurled at the players is even more embarrassing.

Oh no, not an apologist! The shame upon my children and my children's children!

I'd lost all respect for Mary a long time ago, but to start hanging shit on the players is just not on.

Yes, I'm pissed off that we lost yesterday, but as a grown man I know that the best way to channel that annoyance is not to stand in a pack yelling abuse and booing a team I support whilst standing behind the safety of a fence.

Dufty can be a very good player but at the moment he is out of form and down on confidence, Any other coach would give him a spell in ISP to recover but sadly not our coach.
No coach would put his fullback down to ISP two weeks before finals.

Would be an absolute idiotic move.

Yep, that sounds awfully classy.

And you say there were kids around?
Mate you are quite obsessed with me and selectivity quoting my comments, you really are going to need to see someone about that.
I'm not famous, I don't require a stalker.

Did you go to the game, did you see it?
Where's your hard evidence any of this actually happened?
Or is this just your "opinion"?
