Dufty comments

Good lord. 2016 it was “drop Dugan, bring in Dufty”

We do, and he has a blinder. He’s saved our bacon a number of times since then, but suddenly it’s “drop Dufty bring in Herbert”..

The kid is down on confidence, this happens. He’ll come good.

Hell, I recall Slater having a similar start to his career. If only the Storm had cut him loose like we want to do with Dufty..

BTW, where’s Marsters at? I thought he was the shiny new toy we all wanted to play with. Why is Herbert back to bring flavour of the month?
I have a lot of empathy for his predicament but if you were head coach and given his recent form (yesterday was embarrassing), would you start him in a sudden death semi final?

Well, no.

Where is the evidence it was actually said, and in what context? I hear references to twitter, but haven’t seen any tweets.

And of course, where you say something and to whom can have a massive difference. Eg “I’m thinking of you naked” can be a wonderful thing to say over the phone to a spouse.

Not so much to the same being said to the garbage man via the window of his truck.

Again, where’s the proof and in what context?

If some of the vitriol on here was spouted unfairly at him, I’d say he’s well within his rights to say that in reply.

Just because you’re wearing the same colours as the player doesn’t give you the right to be a terrible human.

We’re all annoyed at yesterday’s result, but directing the venom at the players isn’t going to help.
For god sake man, it was said to a reporter who posted it on Twitter, if you'd bothered to read the whole thread you would have seen that, but you didn't.
Unless all reporters are just spreading "fake news" for the sake of it these days.

Maybe if you had been at the game you would have seen what was said and to whom.
I was at the tunnel, I heard all the comments, thier was no vitriol, no venom, there were choruses of boos, I myself asked Graham if he could teach all the other muppets to play football by the next week, I asked Dufty if there was any chance he could learn how to defend before then too.
A fan threw thier teams scarfs at a player, he was invited to leave.
Dufty stayed for some time to have photos with the kids, he was not personally abused during that time.

I didn't hear one swear word, I didn't use one swear word, we were surrounded by small children, no one was offended......with the obvious exception of the players who deserved it because they had just offended all of us.

I think Matt Dufty needs to wake up to himself.

In the past 3 weeks we've been hammered twice by teams running in the bottom 4 and played a standard of footy that I'm sure most on here would agree had been unacceptable.

I remember that season.
Nazareth Narks played at the Coliseum against, if l remember rightly, the Jerusalem Giants.
The score was something like 54-4 to the Giants and afterwards, the Narks got fed to the lions.

Now THEY were tough fans!

Duffy has got it too easy.

I thought JC was Captain Coach of the Apostles & got nailed by the Centurions
for insubordination to The Romans after being stabbed in the back.

Ill say they have it easy!
Theyre lucky that Brownie wasnt still coach, he wouldnt have just slapped them, theyd all have black eyes, cuts and bruises from the uppercuts, stomach kicks and being thrown out of the windows.....

Expressing displeasure at a team's, or individual's performance, is fine.

IMHO, personal abuse of players is off limits.
As I said, I heard no personal abuse.
I heard someone ask Nene if he would like to back to Nth Qld tomorrow, I heard someone ask Lafai if he'd like to rejoin canturbury tomorrow, I heard someone ask Dufty if he was going to learn how to defend before next week, I heard those things cause I said them.

Did you ask Fizz if he would like to go back to the Sharks tomorrow?

So someone has posted hearsay on Twitter, and it’s gospel?

If it was a properly vetted peice posted on their employer’s news channel, I’d believe it.

I myself asked Graham if he could teach all the other muppets to play football by the next week, I asked Dufty if there was any chance he could learn how to defend before then too.
You sound like a really awesome fan and the players must love you. I’m proud to wear the same colours as you.

I didn't hear one swear word, I didn't use one swear word, we were surrounded by small children, no one was offended......with the obvious exception of the players who deserved it because they had just offended all of us.

So you didn’t hear one swear word, but yet you heard James Graham say f**k?

Or are you saying that James Graham, a professional footballer with media training, completely unprovoked and in front of children tell someone to f**k off?

I’ve got a swear word that relates to your story. It’s called “bullshit”

Regardless of where it was said and to whom, it was still said.
Dufty is not the only one saying it at the moment, Graham told fans to F off, Mary was less than fulsome in his response to the same question.

You know who dosnt get booed?
Teams that win.
Players that score tries.
Players that make match winning tackles.

You know who deserves to get booed?
Teams that lose 38-0 and 40-4 to bottom ranked teams.
Teams that get flogged in thier last home game of the year when honouring a retiring club legend and a fallen comrade.
Teams that need to beat a club in absolute crisis to get a second chance in the finals and get flogged.

Cop it on the chin and move on with the thought that you Proberbly deserved it.

And before the everyone get all hissy, this is not an attack on Dufty, as I've said before he could be a fantastic player if he and the team as a whole was coached properly.

Spot on regardless of where he said it he did.
Friz had the balls to say the fans are right.

Well I used to be a great supporter of Dufty and my 11 yr old son asked for his new Dragons jumper to have the number 1 on the back. But I now have come to the conclusion that he needs to grow up; he needs to learn a lesson or he will have no future in the game.

I'd say send Dufty back to ISP and promote Lomax and Field in a re-arrangement of the backline. And to all those on here who were loudly saying that dramatic changes are too much of a disruption, just take a look at us now, we are about to have to make drastic changes with reserve grade players who have seen very little first grade in 2018.

Mary has done a third class job over the past few years and should be saked this week. Bring in an experienced first grade coach to see us through and give us at least a bit of a chance to progress in the finals.
