Well said SlayerI was not at the game yesterday. Thank God for small mercies.
However, I was very vitriolic at to the performance of the team and a couple of players in particular on this and other forums.
Yes, frustration played a major part in that, watching made me wonder what has become of my once proud club. A club my father played for, a club where many heroes had donned the Big Red V, a club where football history was created with 11 straight premierships. It was not anger, just pure hear felt frustration of seeing my team turn up its toes at such a momentous occasion. Some of our past champions would be turning in their graves.
However, in saying that, I do reserve the right to chastise any player who I think isn't doing his job. Be that our highest paid player, or our lowest, our captain or a rookie. We have no problem in waxing lyrical of someone who plays well, but to criticize when they play bad seems taboo. Sports people in the public eye have to accept that fans with love them one day and loathe them the next. It's the nature of the beast.
One thing I will say is that verbal or physical abuse of players directly, be that at the game or on their private social media is akin to gutlessness, particularly with the knowledge they have to "take it on the chin" and not rebuke in any way.
I truly hope, I mean really truly hope, we bounce back next week and run in 50 against the Knights. I hope ALL our team who runs out on Saturday plays at 100% intensity, belying any talk of being a spent force this year.
Unfortunately, under McGregor, that task seems herculean in nature, even if he injects fresh talent into the squad.
Apologies to anyone who took offence at my ranting yesterday, but as I said built out of frustration and the thoughts of times gone by.
Dragon for life!
That's great.Im a Dragons/Saints supporter of over 55 yrs now, and I feel i have to say something about yesterday. Firstly I didnt realise I was standing right alongside Best Golden Boots-I know this from whats been said on this forum now-and I can vouch for everything he's said. There wasnt abuse from anyone around us,just pure distress at the effort put in.And thats what got yelled at the players and I certainly yelled at as many as I could except Gyspy-of course-and Friz and Tariq who really tried I thought. I was in the stand and watched as Morris scored in the corner, and in the lead up to this I watched Ben Hunt casually walking back-not an ounce of effort to do anything. I earn about about $80k a year and Ben Hunt earns about 10 to 15 times what I do.If I turned up to work like that I be sacked before I knew it.However it was most of the team who performed so badly(or didnt perform) for the whole match. It was appalling and they deserved to know it.So Muzby like it or not-they deserved every ounce of yelling they copped.Ive only been to one other match ever in my life where the Dragons were booed off at half and full time. But this time was different-its was Gypsys last match and a farewell for Lance. To not even try at this match was unforgiveable and not like the Dragons I've followed for over 55 yrs now.I have to work hard for my wage and to watch a pack of bludgers get paid for that to me was not something I was going to be silent about. The season pass to Kogarah isnt cheap and its not like I'm rolling in cash. If thats the best Mary can muster than maybe my cash would be better spent taking my whole family out for dinner for about the same cost as 2 tickets in the grandstand, and just watch it on TV. But I'm a Dragons life long supporter and I go to as many games as I can and we all want and deserve better than this. There had better be some massive changes this week in players on field and effort. I still remember seeing the tail end of 11 in a row. Thats what the Dragons are-not what I saw yesterday
Thanks mate, and you keep up the good work cause your knocking that right outta the park.
Bye bye.
Goodnight sweetheart
Perhaps you, being mary, should've sacked yourself 2 months ago and the players you decided to sack now wouldn't need sacking. If I was coach after that game literally the only players to ever pull on a First grade red V again would be Simms, Perriera, Mann, Frizz, Simms, Graham, Luch, Mcinnis, JDB and Host the rest Id get rid of asap never to play again, and then Id sack myself immediately
Man you simply have no clue do you.
"You can go to Nth Queensland now Nene" and "please go back to Canturbury" to Lafai is somehow racist?
Get to a game, watch with 12000 other Dragons supporters as they get flogged 38-0, and then boo loudly with 12000 other Dragons supporters as they leave the feild.
Then come back and talk to me.......or better yet don't, I don't like to play with people with untreated mental conditions.
Graham telling fans to F off, you saying why would he.That's great.
So again I'll ask the question - if the discussion was so polite and non-abusive, why did a media trained professional footballer tell a fan to f**k off?
We've all been to disappointing games, but the measure of the person watching it is how they carry on after a poor performance.
As I mentioned earlier, I've become more embarrassed by the carry-on of the fans yesterday than the performance of the team itself. And considering how bad we were on the field, that's saying something.
Yes, we're all passionate fans, and that's what is awesome about supporting this club. But you can be passionate without carrying on like a fool. And unfortunately the carry on of the fans has put a bad spotlight on the club, not one that would force change.
So true nontime.PC bullshit they can ALL f*^&! off theyre NOT a Dragons players armpit hair
Nailed it.The dribble in this thread makes for some painful reading
Muzby attempting to bring a calm to the place and talk with a bit of sense, 4 or 5 seniors thinking they should sack the lot, defending there right to hurl abuse at players and families because they pay 40 bucks for a game .
I couldn’t imagine a bigger pharqwit then one willing to hand around after the team has been smashed purely to lay into players, imagine what your wives and kids must think of you in that moment..

Players should gave been rested during origin and others given a go.But super coach knows best.Same crap different year when will the management of this club see it Mary has had long enough the board needs to act lets see if they are capableDufty can be a very good player but at the moment he is out of form and down on confidence, Any other coach would give him a spell in ISP to recover but sadly not our coach.
