Do you think he's the best fullback you have ever seen.whatsyour name Nostradamus.
I had Greg Inglis at fullback in my best team of all time in his first year in first grade. But not after 1 game. Slater probably surpassed him, but if Inglis had been playing fullback in his younger days, when he was slimmer and more agile, maybe I would still have him as the best fullback I had seen. I do have Inglis at center my best team of all time. The other centre is out of Mark Gasnier and O'Conner. Kenny is 5/8 and halfback is a toss up between Sterling, Johns and Thurston.

In my opinion, Brian Johnson is the best fullback that Saints have had in the last 37 years.

Right now I would rate the best fullbacks in the game as

1 Slater
2 Tedesco
3 Tom Trbojivic[/QUOTE]

Well drag obviously you'll never win a popularity contest .Tom at 3 ahead of Darius that's a stretch even moylon has a better all round game than Tom .yes I know he's currently a 5/8 .

I think Darius Boyd is the most overrated player in the game. I would take Tom Trbojevic ahead of Boyd any day of the week. Tom T will become a real superstar of our game. Tom already has a much better all round game than Boyd or Moylan and Tom has not yet reached his full potential.

Boyd isn't even the best fullback at Brisbane, that is Milford, who should still be playing fullback. I would take Dufty over Boyd right now. Boyd does not like bringing the ball back. He does not score enough tries. He only has one good string to his bow and that is his ability to chime into the backline and create the extra man. I wasn't even a fan of Boyd when he played for us.

I think Moylan is a better 5/8 than fullback. Right now I have him penciled in as NSW 5/8 next year, with Cleary his halves partner. In saying that I would obviously still have Tom T ahead of Moylan at fullback, but I would take Moylan over Boyd at fullback.

On a side note Frank facer.i met your namesake many times in my younger days.i worked with Ian walsh at stacks cars paddinton,Mr facer was a marvelous administrator wish he was in charge now .

As a teen I was well aware of Frank Facer and that he was our Club Secretary (now called CEO) during our Golden Years. I remember giving a speech in front of my class in year 8 and or 9 on rugby league and St George. I am pretty sure that I even mentioned him as being our clubs secretary one of my speeches.

St George Illawarra rookie sensation Matt Dufty knocked back Warriors to chase fullback spot at Dragons

IF IT wasn’t for loyalty and Josh Dugan’s impending departure, St George Illawarra rookie sensation Matt Dufty would have been playing for the New Zealand Warriors.

The Saturday Telegraph can reveal the Warriors expressed interest in signing Dufty last season while he was carving up the under 20s ranks.

Dufty knocked back the move to Auckland to remain close to his family.

The Penshurst junior was also told Dugan would most likely leave the club, opening a pathway for him to play fullback in the future.

Dufty was rewarded for his patience and hard work last Sunday when he made his NRL debut in the big win over Manly in Wollongong.

The Hurstville-born talent scored a try, set up two others and ran for 188 metres.

It’s the type of performance that justifies Dufty’s decision to remain at the club, according to his manager Clinton Schifcofske.

“The Warriors showed some interest in Matty last year, but it was a big call for a kid that age to go to New Zealand,” said Schifcofske, who played 234 NRL games primarily at fullback for the South Queensland Crushers, Parramatta and Canberra.

Dufty was superb on debut last week for the Dragons.
“He had a think about it, but being a local junior he wanted to stay. Matty and I sat down and went through the clubs one to 16.

“Dugan was still at the club then, but the indications were that he was probably going to leave. Matty was just looking for an opportunity and that is what has presented itself.”

Dufty looked right at home against Sea Eagles players much bigger, older and more experienced.

If the 81kg speed demon can maintain his high standards in the coming rounds, he could also receive a significant financial boost.

The 21-year-old is on a second-tier deal worth approximately $50,000, including match payments for each NRL appearance.

He is contracted at the Dragons until the end of 2018, but Schifcofske says his goal is to sign a long-term deal.

“If Matty keeps playing well in the next three or four weeks, we’ll look to get him extended,” he said.

“He has played one game of first grade, but I’m sure they will want to keep him.

“He is happy there. Matty is a really good kid. He has had to work hard and he hasn’t had the cushy ride.

“He had to go the long way, because he was never the superstar as a kid. But he has stayed patient and kept his bum down and his head up to work towards his goal.”
