This kid belongs in FG. Improved defensive positioning, looked ok taking a high ball and kept up his work rate. Really thought he would have busted the game open for us but it wasn't to be.
Dugan should not see FB again this year.

Dufty has had two starting games and so far he has showed glimpses of what he ca do. All we need is a coach to take him to the next level. At the moment we don't have Such a coach

The kid needs to be extended for a further two years asap.
Each game he plays his price tag is going up.
Love having some speed in the team, it's exciting.

What on earth is this thread about? It's beyond my will to go back to the start but on the last two pages alone we've got some goose writing an article that Dufty was being chased by the Warriors (RTS who?) and someone else claiming Greg Inglis as the greatest fulkback of all time.

On the off chance it was started about Matt Dufty, surely he's a bright point in a rapidly disintegrating season.

He's great. We're lucky to have him. He's locked up until the end of 2019 and he will almost certainly never come off contract.

When Souths won the comp, Inglis was challenging Slater for the best fullback in the comp. If Inglis would have been playing fullback all of those years before, especially when he was more agile, maybe he would have the mantle of the best fullback of all time. He is definitely one of the best centres and wingers (in the few games that he played there) of all time. Melbourne also won a grand final with him playing 5/8.

Didn't he re-sign for 2 years.
My understanding is he is under contract until the end of 2018?

I think in general Souths 2014 campaign was on the back of Inglis. A lot of people think he's overrated but when he's on he's ON.

Dufty reminds me a lot of Billy slater. Saints should lock him up now long term and be patient with him at fullback unlike Souths with AJ. He will have bad games in the near future but every player does. It's about adjusting to first grade.

The Storm are after Dufty so we should sign him up long term as they want him to replace Slater.
Storm wont be the only club after him.
I'd say others have had an eye him for a while and his 3 FG games have made his manager very excited just hope we have the smarts to lock him in.

Storm have had an eye on him for a while. Got nothing to do with his 3 games. He was on their radar long ago.

Seems Matt had a few offers but he's a loyal dragon.yes a long term deal is something Mr Millard must get organised. On a side note Drags the Saders played well but a few tense moments near the end .well done to the ref .well played.

I haven't read anything about the Storm being interested in Dufty?

Matty's contract is up at the end of 2018 but we should be looking to lock him in for another 3 years beyond that. We need to accept that over the next 12-18 months we are probably going to lose a couple of our promising young players due to cap pressure. These kids will be skyrocketing in price soon and we won't be in a position to keep them.
If I was Millward I would be looking to lock in Lomax, Dufty, Field, Sailor and Marsters.

Duffy, JDB and Frizel are the kind of players we need as our benchmark on loyalty and pride in the jersey. Plus young Host as well. Throw in Vaughn and McInnes that's what we want. I'm also been impressed with Ah Mah, who has developed into a solid player in recent years.
Our weak link is centers and wingers.. surely we have better options than Nighty and MacDonald??

Agree but we did a contract for Nighty before them hard to fathom!!!!!!!!
