yeah because Dugan is always injury free...
plus his asking price would now be DOUBLE what we paid for Beale, probably more than double actually...

paying overs for a player always injured... how is that a better option?

Dugan has DOUBLE the ability of Beale. Dugan is a proven match winner he was always the best prospect in junior grades and his performances in the Raiders U'20's premiership winning team were phenomonal.

Try not to get confused Dugan is a much better fullback option.

For what it's worth, heard on the radio this morning that Robert Lui is also in the mix
No Thanks
Don't want any woman basher (twice) near our club.I can forgive most things but not this especially when he has had two bites at the cherry!!!!!!:x

I can just see it. K Stanley, Carney, C Stanley, Goodwin, Beale and Dugan, 20 minutes into the game and they all go down with a knee injury.

Maybe we should also get Campese as well. he is perfect, he's from Canberra AND he is injury prone.

less than 5 weeks into his chance we are talking about signing a better fullback.

That's business. If there's a 'better' fullback as you put it, we should explore that.

Sure Beale is injured at the moment, but next season he wouldnt be happy with Dugan at the back..

Again, if we're purely in the business of making people happy, well get used to finshing in the bottom half of the table. Josh Drinkwater might not have been happy if we signed Cronk - but would that be a reason not to?

Talented they may be but Dugan and Carney are also injury prone and immature. I would rather see the Dragons develop junior talent within the club rather than buying a team. If I wanted that I would have supported Manly, Canterbury, Easts etc. I don't mind the club buying a player or two but not too many, please.

Now that we are the most popular destination mentioned for player signings, should we have an on-going "Rumoured Signings" thread ( like the main NRL forum ) ? It might make it easier for everyone.

I feel for Beale, however generally you dont see a player back from knee reconstruction at his best for at least 2 years from surgery if at all. If Dugan comes i would hate to see Cummins leave, Beale could slot into center next year and i think would be OK. Dont rate Carney, much rather have Soward as long as he keeps up his present from OR better (go you good thing) and probably less money.

Carney is just using us to jack up his price for Sharks. I find it extremely doubtful he'd leave Cronulla, & if he did, it wouldn't be with us. Imagine telling Gallen & the rest of them that you've just signed with St. George. f**k that lol.

Maybe, maybe not. It would be tiring dealing with everything at the Sharks, how long will it drag on for? Carney may want out.

Carney is a blow in. The local rivalry would mean near on nothing to him.
It's pretty different to developing a junior and seeing him leave for the enemy.

Who's buying a team.We need a half option and a back option, and every player is injury prone, look at Beale now.We are back to the problem we had last year at fullback and our juniors options are another season away so signing Dugan would add plenty to our team.

Dugan and Carney would definitely make dragons games 'must see' viewing (as though I need an excuse!), and we'd be a dangerous team in attack.. While we're improving all the time at the moment we're a long way from being considered a real threat, and this could make a difference.

sure, dugan may be injury prone. but, look at beale. he's already had one knee reconstuction, and has now injured the same knee. therefore, sure it'd be more worthwhile heavily investing into dugan, who has bucket loads of talent?

So how does the logic work?

Beale is injury prone having had two knee reconstructions not one. Therefore, it is okay to replace him with another injury prone player who is also a basket case?

How do you figure?

No question Dugan has talent, but what good is his talent from the sidelines

My point is, everyone has seemed have been happy with having beale there, despite his knack of picking up an injury, and people are then saying, "well what about poor beale after he comes back next season?". On the other hand, with dugan, people are totally paying attention to his injury history.

Carney is not world class, he goes missing in the big games...
Plus IMO signing Dugan would mean letting Beale leave when his contract expires. Beale chose the Dragons because we promised him the opportunity to play fullback. now less than 5 weeks into his chance we are talking about signing a better fullback.
Sure Beale is injured at the moment, but next season he wouldnt be happy with Dugan at the back..

Oh come on Red... Turn it up. Carney and Dugan would make us a premiership threat. Currently we are not.
Therefore it's a smart decision to sign them if possible.

](*,) What I mean is... Most people have been happy to have Beale at full back, despite his injury problems. He's had 2 knee recons, one on each knee, and has injured his knee again. Yet, people are saying that dugan shouldn't be signed, because he's injury prone. I don't see their logic there. I didn't hear people complain about injury problems before we signed beale. I could be wrong, but that's just the impression I'm getting.
