Dugan or Boyd

o Dugan is much bigger/stronger/taller/faster than I realised, after watching a nippy Quinlan go around, Duges looks like he could pack into the 2nd row, but his speed is like a ferrari, he just toyed with the defensive line, nothing doing and then just breaks it at will.. it looks so easy!?

o Virtually on his own he has taken a side that tries hard, and put on 4-5 scoring opportunities, virtually scoring 4 himself, I mean for a side that struggles to put on 12 pts per game... its a miracle.. imagine a halfback & 5/8 who had speed and could break the line too, would be undefendable.

o Duges is still rough around the edges obviously and his raw talent is all that was in effect last night, but lets hope Price can make better use of his skills, def got 1'upd by Haynes crunching cover tackle, but thats a little lesson haha, not many fullbacks would pull that off but hes a bit rusty still the duges, and with Sowards goalicking, scoring in the middle is pretty much 50% more points.

o Longterm its about injuries and motivation (esp when we lose a few against better teams), he has far more personal skill than Boyd, Boyd cant score a try to save his life, but Boyd also puts on a lot of tries, defends well and rarely gets injured so points to him for that, but the Duges Abides, go get em tiger.

Dugan will be the Dragon's greatest fullback of all time.

That is a big statement to make.Did you ever see Langlands play in the Red Vee?
I have and what a mighty player he was.Dugan is only a boy ,yet can scale the heights that Changa achieved on last nights display.

Changa was an immense talent and I still believe he was one of the best footballers ever,be it fullback ,centre, winger.

Perhaps Doust will wait until he plays against an actual NRL team, before thinking about offering him a long-term deal.

By the end of this year, people will forget the name Graeme Langlands.

No true St George supporter would ever forget the name of Graeme Langlangs. He was the greatest full back to ever play the game. And yes I also saw Clive Churchill play.

Such a statement attributed to your good self, even tongue in cheek, is tantamount to treason. Please withdraw it unreservedly, as many of us long term supporters find it very offensive, to say the least .

I'm sure Changa is horrified. Or at least his spokesperson is.

FTR Dean, I laughed.

Willow some things in life are sacrosanct. Being disrespectful to the greats of our club is high on the list.

FTR Willow, I did not.

Haha... it was all about respecting Chang. A joke on those showing all the uber-love for Dugan (like he is 'bigger than Changa'). Read it again with your laughing goggles on.

It went over your head. Don't worry, can only explain it once.

Apologies to Dean for having to spell out the joke. I know such things ruin the punch line.

No disrespect to Beale, but Dugan is simply a better fullback. Signs are good if this is how he goes after one week training with the team.

2 different styles I believe and both have their roles in their respective teams.

Boyd played the role he was meant to - he was a great defensive fullback and chimed into the back line when required. A good team player and rarely showing individual brilliance

Dugan on the other hand seemed to be everywhere. I also noted that he seemed to be organising play at times. This adds another dimension to our attack that Boyd didn't. He is an x-factor and will add that unknown element to the attack.

Having said that, I think we need to wait to see if the team can back this up in the following weeks. Everybody put in, but it was against a mostly rookie team who seemed to lack any real structure. I reckon someone like Souths would have put 60 on the eels last night. Dugan performed well on very short notice (which shows some real promise with the gelling of the team), but lets wait a month or so to see how he goes once the excitement dies down.
