Dugan clearly stated he wanted to stay at the Dragons
Dugan stated he wanted to play FB not centre (thanks very much you dick head Millward)
Dugan has not said anything about Cronulla or the likes that is all shit talk by others. Even if it does happen Dugan said nothing during any negotiations.
Dugan wasn't the coach with the bad game plans and wrong selections (Matthews to centre, De Belin to half, Benji anywhere, Rein, Lafai for 12 weeks when he was playing shit etc etc) not even truly great players could have lifted us up through that mess.
Unfair criticism being level;led at him IMO and like all players he is entitled to ask for what he thinks he is worth.
Entitled...yes you are right there Duges is entitled. He is trying to squeeze a mil outta the dragons (reportedly started at 1.1) knowing full well he won't / can't get that from any other club. 2 sheds has grown up a little but he is still in it for no 1. And no can't blame em on one side of the coin BUT Duges has been playing this one out in the media and he knows how fans get when faced with losing a star player and is using that to force pressure on the club and millward. I praise the club for sticking with its judgement. Facts are that he is a powerful freak athlete but an average footballer in terms of skill. Millward sees this and hence centre move. Tbh they would be paying overs for a right centre so it's not like the club has not come to the table.

Our attack flows better without him imo.

Oh and...Duges lives in Gymea. All signs point to his exit

In case Ive missed something, and I'm not being a smart arse but has anyone actually heard Josh utter these words 'the club is not showing me respect"...Ive heard this being used frequently on here or is it just another spin by someone...just for my interest I would like to know please

Would have clicked like twice if allowed.
Lots of people getting their danders up and giving to to Duges but he has said actually very little and only in response to Millward's stupidity which was also countered by the coach.
If Millward says nothing then very little or maybe none of this transpires.
We are going better for Mary saying he is just sticking to coaching but evidently it's ok for the recruitment bloke to get involved in coaching and in turn make a mess of it.
Then on top of all that evidently its alright for people to sling off at Dugan about comments he never made.
Laughable to say the least.

Very disappointed in both Duges and the Club if Duges has signed with the Scum for $750k per season.

Length of contract clearly the issue.

Thank you for your efforts Duges.

Lets hope he gives it his all for the rest of the season.

The Sharks have signed international Josh Dugan on a four-year deal starting from 2018.

The new contract for Dugan, who has played seven Tests for Australia and nine State of Origin matches for NSW, means he has committed his future the club until the end of the 2021 season.

Sharks coach Shane Flanagan was delighted to have secured the services of one of the leading outside backs currently playing in the NRL competition.

“Josh will bring quality and experience to our backline next year and to sign the current Origin and Australian Test centre is a major coup for the club and for our future,” Flanagan said.

“We have a number of exciting young backs coming through our grades and Josh’s experience will be invaluable in helping with their continued development. Josh has just turned 27 and I am confident his best football is still ahead of him."

Flanagan went on to confirm that Dugan is excited while welcoming the challenge of playing where best suits the Sharks team.

“He is looking forward to being part of the development of players such as Val Holmes and as to where he might play for next year, quite simply he is the current Test right centre and who can also play fullback which is a bonus for our club,” Flanagan added.

Similarly, Sharks Captain Paul Gallen was quick to welcome Dugan to the club and had no doubt he would be an asset in the years to come.

“We are wrapped to have him,” Gallen said. “I’ve been lucky enough to play rep footy with Josh over the years and he is a good guy and an outstanding team player.

“He is going to be an enormous boost to our team and Josh will be a great benefit to the club.”

4 year deal at the Sharks......translates to 2.5 years to be actually played when you factor in the injuries that will occur.
Good luck Duges.....now we can move on!

He is a bit injury prone
Interesting to see if we get a replacement for him,we have lost b moz ,he is starved of the ball with the grubs.
Merrin we miss a bit ,but the panthers arent going the best so far
Who knows with dugan how he will go
Do we miss b moz and merrin ? Will we miss dugan?

Thank goodness that he has finally made a decision . He has given me a lot of good memories , however we all move on in our lives .

On the plus side , the Dragons ' War Chest ' is now building and hopefully it will be used to purchase other quality players , that the Joint Venture requires .

As far as the Duges replacement for 2018 is concerned , we have him already , you can name him yourselves , Mann , Duffy or what about Milne ?

I am sure Josh , as big Russ also mentioned , will would want to go out as a winner , bad news today , however I haven't been knocked for 6 with this , like I was with Packer .
