The Dragons are back at training tomorrow, will something be announced soon after that ? I respect your mail, but just don't think Robbie Farah will be playing for the Dragons. Do you know if there will be a legendary Friday press conference for Farah ?

You're not too foul on the good mail yourself double nrl.
Are you hearing something different to some of the others?

No, just a feeling that Farah will stay with the Tigers.

Guys there's absolutely no way Farah will remain at the Tigers. Unless JT gets sacked, And that won't happen. Dragons is only destination for Farah. Money is what's being finalized right now. Will only be off if Taylor goes or Robbie is in first grade (guaranteed).

No rush on Dugan selection call

By MITCH JENNINGS

Nov. 12, 2015, 10:29 a.m.

HE’S cemented the NSW No.1 jersey but Josh Dugan is no certainty to wear the same jumper for the Dragons next season.
Dugan was named NSW player of the year last season for his performances across the State of Origin series where he capably filled the hole left by now NFL running back Jarryd Hayne.
He was part of the Blues drought-breaking series victory in 2014 playing at right centre, a move he also made at club level scoring nine tries in 12 games over the latter half of the season – two more than the seven he managed for the entire season last year.
Dugan led the club in line breaks, tackle busts and average run metres last year but the club’s struggle to post points could prompt McGregor to deploy him as a strike weapon on the edge with new recruit Kurt Mann and utility back Peter Mata’utia capable of playing at fullback.
The club began preseason training on Thursday and McGregor said he won’t be making any positional decisions until after the Christmas break.
‘‘Positionally I’m just looking at multi-skilling everyone up over the next five to six weeks,’’ McGregor said.
‘‘If you look at the injuries we have in the game we play I think it’s important that you don’t pidgeon-hole players in certain spots.
‘‘To have Josh, who’s been able to play at the highest level both at right centre and fullback and be dominant in both, is a good thing for the squad.

‘‘In the new year it’ll be a different story when we start putting specific attacking structures in place. Then we’ll zero in on who’s improved and who’s the right fit for the football team.

“It’s always about the team and not the individual.”
The Dugan selection dilemma is a luxury rather than a headache and there’s no doubt the Dragons will enter 2016 far more settled in key positions than last year with Gareth Widdop and Benji Marshall a lock in the halves and Mitch Rein enjoying a breakout season and finishing the season as an 80-minute man.
The likes of Tyson Frizell, Joel Thompson and club MVP Leeson Ah Mau also enjoyed career-best seasons and the Dragons have only added to their forward stocks with Russell Packer, Mose Masoe and Dunamis Lui.
‘‘[Frizell and Thompson] produced regular 80-minute performances on an edge which puts us in a much better position than we were this time last year,” McGregor said.
‘‘With the possibility of Russell and Mose both being available it gives us that size factor that we’ve certainly lacked against the more dominant teams.

“When you look at those top rosters they all have one or two bigs in their 17.
“In that way we’re certainly in a better position going forward with our depth.’’

Why would you dragons want farah in your squad, when you lot were campaigning for rein over him for origin last year?

If that were true, one thing you could say for them is that they are certainly one-eyed Dragons fans. Rein is by my estimation 3rd or 4th inline for NSW, if he is lucky.

Hooker Matt McIlwrick in negotiations with Dragons

THE desire of St George Illawarra fans to lure unwanted Wests Tigers hooker Robbie Farah to the club is set to flatline with rookie dummy-half Matt McIlwrick deep in negotiations with the club.
McIlwrick, the Sydney Roosters and former Canberra Raiders hooker, has attracted interest from Dragons officials despite a talented stockpile of no9 options for 2016.
The Dragons will boast three dummy-half options next season including talented first-choice hooker Mitch Rein, former Raiders hooker/half Josh McCrone and New Zealand Warriors livewire Siliva Havilli.
The appeal of McIlwrick, who featured in eight NRL matches for the Roosters in 2015, is his ability to play 80 minutes while he can also play in the back row.
With Jake Friend sidelined through injury, McIlwrick, 24, began the season for the Roosters in coach Trent Robinson’s starting line-up.
The rugby league rumour mill has been in overdrive in recent weeks that Farah, the NSW hooker, had inked a deal with the Dragons for 2016, putting an end to his long association with the Tigers.

Going ... Going... Gone

Reality finally sets in for RF, the toxicity will kill more than one.

Dragons still the front runners but that can change quickly.. One party from left field showed interest.. But not a genuine Premiership threat. A meeting with one more suitor and that may be all that stands in the way of the Red V..

If the latest interested party is successful, there will no doubt be a few questions raised... There appears to be no end of money at that place and no limit on who they can sign.

No final decision, not yet, but soon.

Now wouldn't the reuniting with Benji make a good story.. I think a player with RF ability and a point to prove will be a lethal mix.

A previous dragon "messiah" also obviously thinks very highly of him.

I watched the England vs NZ game. Cooper was really good. Widdop..... he must be a good talker and organizer. I have never seen anything, for the Dragons, Melbourne or England to suggest he is anything more than 'solid' or 'workman-like'. In theory he should compliment Benji and Dugan very well and ditto for Robbie Farah. Mitch Rein not so much.

Oh, but that's right. According to 'Old Timer' the Dragons shouldn't try and sign Robbie Farah because Widdop might not like it...... This is the thing that bemuses me most. Widdop is a good, solid, 'workman-like', player but the blind loyalty, more so than club legends, he commands from some homies on this forum is incredible.

Unlike the blind loyalty you have for Benji which is sickening.

Please do not twist what I say to suit your needs to justify your arguements.

Yes I am opposed to sign RF however it has never been about what Widdop likes or dislikes it has always been my own opinion of what I preceive to best for the team.

I have offerd my opinions in respect of +/- on RF v's MR and articulated with forum members as to how I arrive at my conclusions.

You have 1 opinion I have another we are both entitled to that but your constant need to ridicule adds nothing to the coneversation or the forum as a whole.

Not everyone will see the game thorugh our eyes but tolerance of others will ensure that all people wil enjoy the forum for what it is supposed to provide.
