Hi, Was just wondering if anyone here rates Dustin Cooper, he's been picked by the sharks next season (which im sure you all probably know), but anyways, i haven't seen much of him, so i was curious what knights supporters thought of him, is he any good?

Apparently he's been training well, what do you think his best position is, ive heard he can play in the back row, centres and has played a bit of fullback.

I think I am one of few who rate him and I was dissapointed to lose him.

IMO his best positions are Centre and Wing.

Actually if you can watch the Sharks V Knights game which went to golden point in 2005, I think you'd find he had a great game at centre.

I hope he gets a better chance at the Sharks.

I rated him. Towards the back end of the season he was playing at 5/8 for us in Prems, and was going pretty damn well.

Thats good, we need some depth in the centres...

champion bloke, good player. I think he will start at centre/wing or maybe even bench for you guys.

got some pretty shoddy treatment here overall.

big unit, can be a bit selfish with the ball but strong and skillful.

Its good to hear all you guys giving him a wrap, sounds like most of you would still like him there, so he's obviously not a dud... I hope he gets a bit of time in firsts next year.

I thought he could've been a weapon in our backline. I don't understand why he didn't play more first-grade, he had the potential to be huge.

He missed a few opportunies because of injuries. Once or twice this year he was on the fringe of first grade selection but had a week or two off with an injury so missed his chance.

Also, what was the go with hagan's fetish for turning fullbacks into back rowers? Cooper, Young, Abraham (anyone I missed?)

Heaps of potential. Needs to grab his chances more. He played a couple of good games for us in first grade, but seemed to lack motivation most of the time, he needed to go looking for the ball more, I reckon that's why he didn't make it at the Storm as well. He has speed and strength could be a really damaging centre, needs to put in more.

Abrahams move to the backrow was a gradual thing due mainly to his build, he progressed from fullbackto centre to backrow as he grew more.

He can't follow a game plan - that is why Melbourne didn't want him, and you could see Joey getting the sh*ts with him on the field.
He does some good stuff as an individual, but he is never where he should be during a set play or rehearsed move.

Thought the first couple of games he played for us he looked good. After that he was in one week out for three, back in for one or two and so on. Never got to build any combinations is a team which was massacred by injury that particular season.

If he could have forced his was in at the start of 2006, he may have lived up to the wraps may of us have on him, as we had a much more stable backline this year.

IMO he will be a good pickup for the Sharks.

I think thats a bit harsh... if you remember 2005 nobody was on the same page as Joey. He looked like he was 3 days ahead of the rest of the team.

When he played in the halves in Reggies he looked really good. He would have to follow a gameplan if he was wearing the 6.

His got potential, no doubt. But he never seems to get a real opportunity to proove himself unfortunately. Maybe Ricky we'll give him a chance.
