But I'd have to give Dykes more credit as a 5-8 than a halfback.

In fact there seems to be a school of though among some coaches/clubs that the traditional five-eighth role is a thing of the past? Teams seem to drop anyone in the No 6 and play like they have two locks, or two halves. You could almost count the specialist 5-8s left in the NRL on one hand, as seen by selections for NSW SOO this year.

The only thing he had was his bomb. That is obvisouly not going to work against all teams. He is inexcperienced but seeing as we have limited chance tomake the 8 and we were here last year. There is always poosiblilty.

Misty - I think we agree to disagree on Witt's kicking - let's both watch him carefully the next couple of weeks - I'll be watching every game at least once - if he's terrible I'll come out and say it! But if he's great I'll say that too!!

Sadly I don't have any old games on tape to send you to watch Dykes - but regardless of whether Witt is any good at kicking or not I think it's safe to say that Dykes isn't!!

Dykes has his days like Witt does. I honestly thjink with Smith asking Dykes to change his style of play has really affected his game. Dykes doesnt look to give his all in a Parra Jersey like Cayless, Hindmarsh and Hopkins do. But i still would hate to see him go becuase as always they leave and have the best season the next year.

Dykes kicking game has always been inconsistent. Anyone who thinks otherwise is kidding themselves. Why do you think he got the nickname "out on the full" when he was at the Sharks?
