imasharkie its close to the aussie team, and notmuch different in quality to what the roosters and broncs trot out every week, with no cap problems so we should be ok

I dont know if any of you heard on the continuous call of crap team over the weekend but it was said that Dykes is going back to the Sharks for 220k and Parra will need to pay out the remaing 80k to release him.

Tony Mcgae also mentioned on Saturday that the Cronulla management are asking Peachey to retire because they don't want to sign him for next year.

Not sure how correct the info is but judging on how the ex Parra players have gone this year for other clubs...., I can't wait to see what Dykes can do for us.

Thanks for clearing that up NCL, it would be ashame to lose the Peach.

What about the Dykes rumour any truth in that, it sounded like a certainty that he will be back.

Didnt hear the dykes rumour, wasnt listening when that got mentoned. From all the reports on this forum and in the media suggest we are keen to get him and it looks like we will.

I don't want Dykes back anyway but there is no way he is worth 220k if that figure is correct

I would like to see Dykes back. Playing under the right coach he is a great player IMO Stuey is that coach. He has a great kicking game, Can throw great passes to put team mates though gaps ( just what Vagana needs IMO ) having Noddy and Dykes either side of the ruck it gives us better options. I think we will get for a good price.
The other good thing is Aitken will learn alot from both Noddy and Dykes which will only be great for us in the long run.

The "word" from the Eels Office at the moment is due to the re-signing of Orford to the Storm that Dykes will see out the final year of his contract. Then again who knows what Smith will come up with next? ;-)

i though that they were going to move morris to 58 and have witt at half with riddell although they may keep dykes there for depth

Brian Smith that nut oversaw the signing of Dykes and now just a short time later has told him his style of play needs a radical overhaul.

Whats that about?

It seems Smith wants Dykes to develop as a half and get some more structure in his game rather than play as a five-eighth. He is then trying to develop Witt into a five-eighth as opposed to being a halfback. He is then moving Morris from hooker out to five eighth, but only for while Riddell is on the field as once Piggie comes off he wants him to move to five eighth. :?

And people wonder why there are disgruntled Parra fans?

That's some fuct up shit!

My point is, if Smith doesnt like the whole style Dykes plays, why did he recruit him? And Dykes is actually one of his best players, yet when the media really applied the blowtorch, Smith dropped him and has seemingly disowned him. Seems like Dykes is being made the scapegoat by the hapless Smith if you ask me.

Not sure why the change but I think the whole being dropped thing put a few on notice. Dykes wasn't playing to his best but since he came back he has been great. We missed him on Saturday. Dykes will stay at the club, he is the main hope for getting anywhere near the GF at this stage, especially next year.
