Hopefully we will get to see the Aitken/Kimmorley combo before they make a decision on Dykes.

no offence intended mcsharkie

but you were such a big bird fan (i always wanted to say that)

even when his darkest days arrived with the suspension you were his greatest advocate

what happened?

None taken Millers.

I am still a big bird fan. (not the sesame street version)

I don't think he is useful to us as a 5/8th. Maybe as a lock. I think we need a bloke with more handling ability than Bird. Someone who has a good general kicking game. Someone who takes the pressure off Noddy. Peachey does this to an extent but not in the kicking department.

As a runner, I rate Bird very highly. If he could improve his kick/chase game and be the first bloke back to take a hit up after the opposition kicks, work on becoming a heavy defender, then he could develop into the perfect lock forward. He is a long way off though.

I can see his potential. Others here were looking too hard for it. He has plenty of raw ability.

i call it as i see it imasharkie

bird is young but shows more ability

aitken may show some ability but not enough for 1st grade

i never siad either of them wil not turn out to be solid 1st graders in years to come

i am talking about putting appropriate players in appropriate positions

i have a feeling bird will be the 5/8 anyway

So millers you are saying that Aitken will be sent back to PL when Kimmorley returns and Bird will assume the 5/8 spot. BK should be back next week.

yes

and mcsharkie i did see your post

i dont agree though

i think the player most suited to be groomed as an up and coming 5/8 is bird

i suspect the coach shares that view

if you are talking about signing an established 5/8 i have no problem with that

i am talking about this year and am assuming a quality established 5/8 may not be signed

dont mistake me for a bird fan

dumas would be my choice after bird

at the expense of gallen and aitken

i suspect the coach goes bird then gallen though

I already have the answer thanks IMA.
& yes Millers you are right. I think it might have to do with Dumas tackling technique as he misses quite a few.
But that in itself is inconsistent.

What would be nice is if Bird could develop a kicking game, because there is no one else, other than Kimmorley. No I don't rate Sully as a kicker. No one knows where his kicks are going, therefore the chase suffers.

...and i think you are extremely correct millersnose...BIRD is the outstanding 5/8 and will be our best solution.

its just that some are easily swayed in their opinion.

but that is NO surprise.

did anyone check out the tidbit in the sun herald. Steve rogers confirming sharks would be well and truly interested in bringing dykes back to the fold.

Buy dykes for one two years have atiken as a replacement for him and kimmorley in PL and by the time dykes carea is over atiken is ready problem solved. Atiken will not leave as far as ive heared as he is a big sharks fan. And then mabey bird at lock or on bench.
