I agree that 2012 is wide open. Even the lower ranked teams have some things going for them where with a little bit of luck they could be right in it. Meanwhile most of the higher teams from 2011 have had some pretty big disruptions.

Although at the moment my favorites are the Storm for the Minor Premiership, and the Broncos for winning the whole thing.

Yeah not getting narky but I just thought this was about looking at changes to the quoted markets with all the off-seasons signings, screw-ups and sackings.

Panthers are very generous @ $21 to be honest with you. - $30+ for mine they have nothing.

Probably. I will be absolutely thrilled if we jag 7th or 8th spot, but no higher.

It's all academic now, but Penrith were paying ~$51 (from memory) before the 2003 season kicked off. Just sayin'.

You can have your opinion on who finishes 1-16, but unless you know the fundamentals of bookmaking then you're not qualified to give your own odds.

really the tigers probably deserve it.

only team from the last 2 years to make the top 4 and the only bloke whos any good that we lost is gibbs, but we've gained blair who is better.

then teams like manly (hasler), dragons (boyd, gasnier, bennett) and brisbane (lockyer) have all had significant losses.

Manly are yet to lose Hasler (although he may well not be there after tomorrow morning's meeting).

That said, same team, and I reckon Toovey can get the best out of them.

Dragons nowhere near favourites, agreed. Broncos same.

I'd think the Warriors, Manly and even Newcastle should be in front of the Tigers. With few changes, the Tigers still lack the consistency and depth to go all the way IMO

Surely the storm should be clear by a good dollar or two?

Clear 2011 minor premiers + best prop in the world (ryles) = premiership

But seriously, smith, slater, cronk + widdop a year older, got rid of shithouse champion and macdougall. Probably have about 2-3 folau/inglis clones waiting somewhere down there.

And a second set of books...

Panthers are too low.

Imo we will miss the 8. How low depends on Lewis, Jennings, Gordon & Coote's fitness. Our recruitment was nothing to cheer. We will take a while to get used to playing under Cleary. Our Spine is 1 of the poorest in the comp. 2013 we could give it a shake. I will be happy just to make the 8 next year.

The Tigers always start with good odds...it is how the bookies make their money.

Yep same last year. 1 important thing they lack is a number 1. A few young kids need to step up that is the question. IMO Melbourne are specials the start of last year Widdop, Blair, Procter, Bromwich had question marks on them. Now all are more then decent 1st graders. Warriors only have a new coach Locke, Johnson, Tupou will only get better. They are my tips

Goosie if you get more then $4 for any team to make the 8 ur doing sensationally well.

Anyone worth putting a $50 on is a $1.60 or under.
