Cheers mate. You tell someone to "f**k their eyes" once....

I'll have to come down to an Eels match (from Brisbane) to prove to everyone that I am definitely a different person. I'll only do it if ME comes too though!

It's been nice not knowing you.

Yeah.

I actually find it funny that people think we are the same person. I probably agree as much with Suity and Eelementary on issues but it seems as soon as I agree with Pou on something then I must be him

I have very different views than Pou about Kearney for a start. I believe I also called him a "man with a fork in a world of soup" once which I stand by.

Love your work, Gaz!

I actually love youse all - even people I may disagree with, like barty or strides.

Sorry Mr Pou, I was very busy at work today, let me respond:

Warren Ryan said Langmack is the smartest footballer he ever coached. If Langmack failed at coaching it's because he doesn't have the personality - like Jason Taylor, who is also smart.

So yeah, go and ask Langmack. There's a reason he was able to get into coaching in the first place. Or do you think every ex-player who wants to coach can get a start?

You need to grow up mate. If you can't handle someone having a different opinion than you, maybe the internet isn't a suitable hobby.

Jack Gibson said the same thing about Peter Sterling being the smartest footballer he had ever seen. Sterlo also has a great personality. So if I use your logic he would be a great coach also. I'm running with it.

Grow up?:lol:. Maybe you should just admit when you have been proven wrong you imbecile and not rely on always telling everyone that they are a merkin and to "f**k their eyes."

The game was much slower back then, and playmakers had plenty more time to execute.

It's all relative. So it doesn't matter. Sterling was still a master playermaker and organiser. Didn't you see that yourself ?

f**k your eyes!!!

We were still losing the ruck for most of the last 12 weeks of the 2009 season, but we still managed to make a grand final. We have lost the ruck consistently for more than a decade. I honestly dont see this changing anytime soon.

I totally disagree. Whenever any team is good they are generally winning the ruck, and when they are bad they generally aren't.

I actually thought our ruck speed and wrestle were pretty good in 2010 and 2011, or at least competitive. It was last year that it fell to shit. I feel that Fui and Hindy both hit the wall sometime during 2011-2012, and of course Ben Smith and Justin Poore were cruelled by injury.

So looking at these Missed tackles more closely
Gillett- missed 57 tackles of a total of 526 attempted - 10.8% missed tackle rate
A Kelly- missed 56 tackles of a total of 353 attempted ? 15.8% missed tackle rate
Thurston- missed 49 tackles of a total of 222 attempted - 22.1% missed tackle rate
Sims- missed 47 tackles of a total of 380 attempted ? 12.3% missed tackle rate

and our contribution
Sandow- missed 54 tackles of a total of 226 attempted ? 23.9% missed tackle rate

I think Gillett and Sims can both be given a bit of slack given the total tackles they attempt compared to the number of missed and in a lot of ways Albert Kelly stats are actually pretty good, in both attempted and missed tackle rate.

Thurston is obviously a bit ordinary, but when you can control a game and set up the play like Thurston can then I think you can afford to cover his defensive deficiancies.

If Sandow was as good as Thurston I would say we could excuse his defensive deficiancies, but until Sandow can provide what Thurston does for his team most of the time then I dont think we can have a half who misses close to 25% of the all tackles they attempt.

A look at all the other halves/five-eighth in the NRL the only other player that is anywhere near Thurston and Sandow for missed tackle percentage is Benji Marshall, but even his is lower than both of them.

Hmmmm so looked more at the stats for missed tackles, alarmingly Corey Norman has a worse percentage missed tackle rate than Sandow (25.9%). Now it is difficult to compare apples with apples with different positions as it seems fullbacks miss more tackles as a percentage than front line players, but Norman is still in the worst 4 defensively of all fullbacks (behind Barba 33.9%, Bowen 30.9% and Locke 29%). Incidentally some of the top fullbacks are well below 20% with Stewart and Dugan well below 15% and Hayne at 16%.

But considering we want Norman to play in the line next year it is still a bit of a concern his current missed tackle percentage rate. Hopefully he has a better percentage playing in the line.
