It doesn't matter what your ethnicity is, if you are an Australian citizen then Australian culture and history is also your cultural heritage.

Look you've backed off all the points you were making and are now resorting to blatant strawmen and BS word games to pretend it didn't happen. Take the L and f**k off.

I have idea what the f ur talking about - I'll really don't.
Picking an Anglo centric name for club is excluding. Nobody in marketing today would condone that. Just shows how out of touch you are.

That's one of the things I really appreciate here in New Zealand - pretty nearly everyone accepts the indigenous (Maori) culture as OUR shared culture - not co-opted, but shared.. and Pasifika too, to a degree - what with our sizable PI population.

In Australia, there's still that "their culture, our culture" split.. but here that mindset is not common at all, and dying as younger generations appreciate the whole soup of cultures that make us all Kiwi.

What it says to me is Queensland could start up a rebel competition that sends the NRL broke. Take the Broncos, Cowboys, Titans, Storm and Warriors out of the NRL and you're not left with much to sell to broadcasters and advertisers. A 14 team competiton made up of 3 Brisbane teams, 3 NZ teams, 2 PNG times, West Coast Pirates, Adelaide Rams, Melbourne Storm, North Queensland Cowboys, Gold Coast Titans and a team from Singapore would be far more lucrative to sponsors and broadcasters. Throw in the Canberra Raiders and Newcastle Knights and all of a sudden you have a strong competition that has every base, bar Sydney, covered. Once the Sydney teams go bust playing one another we can bring four of them in to create a 20 team competition that shits all over AwFuL and RU.
Have to admit, I'm kind of intrigued with this expansion into Singapore. But the Sydney teams playing off for 4 spots will only work if Will Ferrell is captain coach of one of them.

That's because you don't have two braincells to rub together.

You've backed down from all the arguments you were making during this discussion, every single one.

You were wrong about the second Brisbane team being like the Crushers. You were wrong about the Crushers history. You were wrong about Man Utd and City starting out as suburban clubs. In other words it was the pretty normal case of you not having a clue what the f**k you are talking about.

You know you can't argue those points anymore so now you are throwing out strawmen, word games, and red herrings, to try and distract from that fact, instead of just accepting you were wrong and pissing off.

That statement right there might just be the most ironic statement I've read in a while.

I also think you've got some prejudice issues, which is pretty ironic considering you are trying to insinuate that I'm a racist. But seriously, you should probably talk to somebody about that.

French philosophy filtered through American race politics is a societal cancer.

But I don't want to talk about this shit, it's boring, depressing, and has nothing to do with the thread.

If Optus decide to do a Murdoch and create a rebel competition, to create content for Optus Sport and their Singaporean company Singtel, then we might get to see a team from there running around!

🤣

NRL is locked up with Foxtel until 2027 and streaming rights for sport is as valuable today as they were for cable TV rights in the mid-90s.

Optus could get a strong competition on the table by luring Cowboys, Titans, Storm, Raiders, Warriors, NZ 2, NZ 3, Firehawks, Dolphins, Pirates, Rams, North Sydney Bears, Sydney Jets, Western Sydney Magpies and convince Dragons or Sharks to rebrand as Southern Sydney. 16th licence could go to PNG or Singapore.

Ok boomer.

Pretty certain I was right about the two Manchester clubs representing small groups of ppl before becoming global brands. Also, crushers were plastic - look at Bombers & now Tiger merging with Jets to get some grassroots cred. Team names should be inclusive & not alienate ppl from different backgrounds. It's not 1983 anymore

Singapore dumbshit theory time is it?
It will be a raging success, twiggy at his best, why are you here? If any team ever dared to breakaway again theyd get booted from pillar to post, and after the SL war, it would be super dumb to try, not to mention a dumb idea in the first place

You should create topic on main expansion page for Singapore bid since now according to you it's a thing

It's just an idea I'm putting out there for discussion.

Why do you hate the Firehawks bid?

Of the three, I think it has the most potential, although Dolphins are probably ahead of them with their stadium. Brisbane Tigers are building a 5k stadium at Langlands Park.

What would the new stadium be used for?

Training base for the firehawks and home ground for the firehawks u16’s,u18’s and u21’s youth teams?

Nah, not his style, he'd rather bombard every thread, with mindless nonsense, and rinse and repeat the same OLD shit, rather than start a proper topic, but he knows no one would reply on or give a shit and drift into the ether.. hence why attention seeking is the go, and why the dumb ideas continue on.

I bet if you type in the word "singapore" in the search bar, it will posted in 5 different threads all on the expansion threads.... spewing and spraying dumb all over these threads

They're merging with jets so clearly dolphins in box seat.

I favour dolphins because they represent large & growing population base to north This seperates them from broncos & gives them best chance to gain support.

I've said this a million times but team playing out of lang park, called Brisbane, claiming to represent the whole of the city really doesn't give ppl much reason to support them, because a team like that already exists - for over 30 years too.

Telling that both bombers & now tigers linked with Jets who are unapologetically based in Ipswich. Seems NRL favours geographical difference & growth areas

Be nice if we have a moderator who could keep threads on topic! Anyone got anything to say about the firehawks bid??
Hey I'm trying, but 2heads cant stop blabbing about singapore on every thread, can you PM him and show him how to create a thread?

So is the idea and long term plan of the dolphins to eventually play out of their expanded capacity stadium in Redcliffe?
Wrong thread, but no, redcliffe has commented on saying suncorp will be their home, also the firehawks too, its ipswich jets/bombers, who want to eventually move away to that ipswich reserve

Haha!! Thanks.

For what it’s worth I’d eventually like to see a moreton bay side, Brisbane city side and a western corridor side added to the NRL as all 3 have history and decent sized populations able to accommodate an NRL franchise.

Their Brisbane Tigers Queensland Cup and Eastern Suburbs Tigers BRL teams will play out of it. They're building a new grandstand on the western side of the ground. I think it will have a training and conditioning centre.

If the Ipswich merger comes off a south brisbane jets or firehawks gives enough difference for sure. It would be very similar to freo coming in to the Perth afl scene. It would also have the cash to start with a bang. This is why I favour them over dolphins whose main target audience is a very long way from Suncorp.
