I hope you are right but if you are correct why are they interviewing candidates ? Also this week would have been perfect to announce Taylor as coach due to the roosters having the week of. Taylor could have spent one day doing media etc then no more comment until roosters season is finished. Then the coming players would know what is happening

I have no idea whether ill be right or not just putting it out there

We were f**ked though because even though Sticky had an out clause, the club did not. If we had sacked him (the only possible threat behind an ultimatum) then we would have to pay him out.

We would also have been hampered in negotiations with any new coach because we couldn't even offer a definite job - the availability of our head coaching job was dependent on Stuart f**king off.

Mate, the 5 man board have a meeting, during the meeting it's agreed that JT ( for the sake if the argument) will be the right man to take this club forward, a phone call to JT to offer the opportunity in principle on the proviso Stuart walks and meetings are taken place between Taylor's party and the board straight after Stuart walks... Is that really difficult to do?

On the other if he knocks back the opportunity than go back to the room and decide on another merkin..

I think Henry, Arthur, Dymock, Taylor, Flannagan ( who's the lowest paid coach in the game) and stone are all quality candidates in my opinion.

Flannagan and Taylor are the only 2 of them I would want.

I don't rate Henry and he already dogged a club so if something better came along he could do it again.

Arthur and Dymock aren't experienced enough for this rabble imo.

Stone looks to be gone to the Cowboys but I think he is a risk too (for us) as he is essentially a rookie too.

I don't think the board should decide on a candidate and then make an offer. I prefer the way they are (apparently) going about it, where they advertise the vacancy (on seek.com or even Craigslist) and then prospective coaches come and sell their suitability.

That's the way to get the best candidate, though I agree there is also some time pressure to fill the role.

I don't care who it is. Just do it soon so we can start rubbishing the boards decision and also start deathriding the coach.

JT being announced as Parra coach this week would be bigger news than anything to do with the NRL finals the way the papers are going on about us at the moment. It's not exactly the PR the NRL want during the finals campaign, more talk about the wooden spooners than those teams actually in the finals.

I understand we can start rubbishing the board as soon as they announce their decision, but I just wanted to check whether death-riding the coach kicks in x months from when they sign, from when the pre-season officially starts or from when we have our first loss?

I don't want to start too early or too late because this is one of the most important actions any Parra fan can do.

Whatever the case, dickheads like yourself will always make your presence felt behind a keyboard... It's the nature of the merkin

It's fine to start asap.

When the decision is made I will call the chairman a plumber and Stagger and Jake can do their lol pictures.

It's going to be great.

And how many of the 12 have also applied for the cowgirls job or the Tits assistant position? How many are just applying as a bargaining chip to upgrade an existing coaching position?

There seems to be an assumption that all the board has to do is offer the position and people will instantly accept. This job could be a career killer for a lot of these guys...just ask SK!!!

My thought would be that getting a strong competent CEO is equally or even more important at the moment. Appointing a coach then finding a CEO to me is a bit like putting the cart before the horse.

From the way i see it there isn't one set time to start but at least 3 depending on peoples varying opinions of the appointment.

1. You do it from the moment the signing is announced, or is some cases even before this when it is just a rumour. An e.g of this would be Ron Jeremy and Ricky Stuart. From my recollection Ron was very anti Ricky from the start. I like this option as a safe bet at the eels no matter the appointment.

2. You are not sold on the appointment but willing to see how things go. The length of this period will pretend on results and can stretch anywhere from 6 weeks to 18 months. Examples of this are numerous and all of us have fallen into this category from time to time. Another fairly safe bet at the eels and probably my second option.

3. You like the appointment and think good things could come. This appointment gets a minimum of 18 months any time after that if things arent going well deathriding may begin. A good e.g. of this is myself and Ricky, he convinced me he could turn things around and i would have giving him next year to show improvement. An outside bet at the eels this option.

Of course there are those that never start and continue long on after the horse has bolted. Best e.g. is swiftystylez and Michael Hagan. These people are just sad or as likely in this case the mother of the appointment.

Excellent point! I think Sharp has said a CEO will be appointed soon (2 weeks). I think it is critical that the CEO and head coach work together well.

OK he's a young coach @ 41 years old.

Coached Bradford for 3 years. Current Great Britain coach. This means that he won't be available until after the World Cup ?

EDIT: Final is 30 November, 2013, so I'm fine with that if Sharpie needs to know my thoughts.

I reckon he is no chance - but he has shown interest in the position thus it makes for a better telecrap article reporting on him as a option rather then a dymock, a Taylor etc
