I wouldn't want Flanagan on the basis that there must be some risk of sanctions related to the Asada investigations and although we can't assess that without knowing the evidence for me the downside would outweigh the upside

What is the upside to both Henry and say Flanagan, is they both have a decent record of recruiting.

The turnover and outside signings they have done in the last 3 years leaves the majority of clubs, except the Rorters open chq book, well behind

Yep agree re the recruiting aspect. In particular Flanagan as it would have been harder to attract blokes to the sharks than the cowboys. He's picked up some sensational buys each year.

Yeah no merkin would want to live and work a short drive from a Sydney beach.

We were f**ked though because even though Sticky had an out clause, the club did not. If we had sacked him (the only possible threat behind an ultimatum) then we would have to pay him out.

We would also have been hampered in negotiations with any new coach because we couldn't even offer a definite job - the availability of our head coaching job was dependent on Stuart f**king off.

it's true ... we were between a rock and a hard-on

I think most players would be happy to take the punt with one of the other five clubs based on or near beaches who weren't insolvent and / or threatened with potential deregistration and had actually won a premiership ever as a slight preference

Until the entire ASADA issue with the Sharks is finalised Flanagan or any person involved with Cronulla in 2011 is a risk signing.

A question for Avenger, do you doubt Ricky's work effect?

I reckon he works hard myself.
