Still can't believe he opened his mouth to the press???

He is not that stupid surely???

I'm happy with either bloke but if JT now gets the gig Sharp has put unneeded pressure on him.

Just so sick of our club being a laughing stock.
Either one of two things have happened. He has deliberately opened his mouth to the press or he has had a quiet word and been misquoted. Either way , he has opened his stupid bloody mouth and once again made our beloved club look like a laughing stock.
Christ ... Can we just find a professional to run this great club ????????

If you want to be a dictator, it's imperative that everyone tows the line. You just get made to look like a fruit loop if you tell the world it's your way or the highway and then get overruled on your decision. How embarrassing for the club, the players and the fans that this is how collaborative our board is. I guess they're happy to see our marquee player and new signings walk over their gross incompetence.

If he has been "misquoted", then look at who wrote the article

Dean Ritchie, and we know where he gets his leads and stories around the club

this will all end in tears if the players get over ruled, it has in the past. You have a player in Hayne who needs motivation and he wanted Arthur as coach and if they then sign Taylor it's just a slap in the face to him and you can't see him being as motivated when as a senior player and captain his input wasn't considered.

Which is another thing - where is the CEO ??????
I thought he chose the new coach. Why hasn't he pulled Sharp into line ???
The invisible man.

Ummm....I don't think you understand the relationship between the Chair and the CEO. The CEO is appointed by, and answers to, the Board (of which the Chair is, well, the Chair). The CEO cannot pull the Chair into line. He can resign, or threaten to resign etc...

While the CEO may well have identified his choice for the new coach, all major strategic decisions like that would have to be ratified at a Board meeting.

The new CEO probably also knows that his tenure is strongly tied to the bloke who oversaw the decision to hire him.

Yeah I know how it works but I think you hit the nail on the head with your last line. My point is, why hasn't someone grabbed Sharp and told him to shut up ? Surely they must realise the damage such comments make ? Especially following Sewards protestations that the board is united. Maybe they have told him to shut up but sharp reckons he is some sort of Alan Jones, some sort of master media guru....

In the revised article it mentions the board is split 4-2 in favour of Taylor.

Sharp, Serrao, Issa, Shepherd and Sassen... who is the 6th board member or is this just another crappy made up article?

I believe there is around 5000 Saudi Prince's out there in this big bad world of ours, so and I am serious here, is there any chance that someone that follows and loves the Eels has some way of contacting just one of these uber rich gazillionaires and is able to convince him to buy out the whole club? The only real stipulation would be that he can't move or change the colours of the team.

Like I said, serious question. I mean there is no way anything will change for us under a democratic board. We don't have any business savvy fans or even non fans who are quality business types and just want to get in there and run the joint properly.

So the only thing I can see is if we maybe put feelers out there or even an add for any bored mega rich Saudi Prince that wishes to try a new sport that has the potential to absolutely titillate and thrill his senses and imagination, and if so, well this is the game and in particular the team for him. We are without doubt a true diamond in the rough.

I'm sure by his standards we would be awfully cheap and within no time at all he would be in possession of the Manchester United of the rugby league world down under and the total envy of all his Saudi Prince brothers and cousins. What more could a young or old Prince want to help him stand out and sparkle brightest in a House that is full of very, very shiny stars?

I don't think there is a better option out there, in all the world. If a Saudi Prince wants to make his mark, then we are the club that will make all his wildest and craziest dreams come true.

So come on Prince's you know you want it, so like the add says, 'Just Do It'. Take a chance on us. I don't think you will ever regret it. It can all be done so very easily and I'm sure it will be just like another minor expense for you. Kinda like adding another wife to the stable.

TheFilthySpammers has someone mentioning Hadley said this morning the vote was 2-2 deadlock between Arthur/Taylor, sadly I don't listen to ray.

The article said that the senior player group want Arthur?

I've spoken to 2 of them in recent weeks and they both said we didn't go to anyone or say anything.

If the other senior blokes did, they did it alone.

It's alright - the one Pou wants (Arthur's's's) has also been stamped "never to coach again" by the rest of the NRL (using his same definitive criteria).

And if we hire Taylor, and not Arthur's's's's, then even we've stamped him never to coach again.

So the majority of the board of 5. 3 were impressed by taylor. 2 were impressed by arthur. So sharp has a personal preference and is not getting his own way so whinges about a unanimous board. Wow. Talk about awkward

the 4th vote could have been steward.

Now I'm confused. How many is there on the board including the Chairman? What's the CEO's role in this?
