Stoked the members voted for an 80s legend with passion for the jersey. That's just what we f**ken needed.

Maybe Pricey can be our next chairman.

And to think; the only alternative to this knucklehead was the leader of the other ticket.

I still don't f**king get it. Why the funk are the board selecting the coach? What the funk do Sassen, Issa, Tony Bongo et al know about selecting coaches? Why are possibly 6 of the least qualified people in the joint making arguably the biggest decision a rugby league club can make? It blows my f**king mind.

I'm with Ram. Lets get a sheik on board. Let him pick the coach. At least he could back up his shit decisions with shitloads of cash. I'm also in the market for silver.

I was told by a former Parramatta great today that Brian Smith would get this Football General Manager position.

I think you will find that Tim Sheens will get this job.

The obvious choice is Smithy but the board won't appoint someone like him cause they will have no control over him.

I hope it is Smithy but I've heard from those close to him when Hadley went off a few weeks back regarding Smithy getting back into the club and even had Fitzy on air blowing up about both Taylor and Smith, the call was made to move away from Smithy.

I was wondering if maybe smithy got counted out a few weeks back, by Sharp, cos smithy was backing a coach other than who Sharp wanted :-k

but yeah - tbh, not getting smithy cos they are scared he is too strong for the buffoons who run our club seems very likely

"I was quite disappointed," Sharp said yesterday. "The club needs to show unity and solidarity, and the mandate I received from the members when I got put in the position I'm in was because of the expertise that I have in football and what I could bring to the football side of things.

"If that's not recognised by other members of the board then that's a sad day in rugby league.

"But whoever takes on the coaching role will get the full support because the one thing I'm all about is the club.

"The one charter that myself and the deputy chair have adopted right from the start when we came in was, 'Club first, team second, individual third'."

I used to think it was a bit rough when people on here were giving this guy crap from the day he started, all the plumber jokes n shit ..... but now I'm convinced this guy is a few sandwiches short of a picnic .... no f'n clue  .... what IS actually a "sad day in rugby league" is when boofheads constantly open their dumb mouths making a mockery of our club :(

Does the plumber understand how much he has actually screwed us? Either coach is now going to be speculated in as getting the chop throughout their time at the club. That's not a way to start your coaching job at a club.

the hypocritical dumb plumber spoke about solidarity yet he goes against what the board recommends and reveals everything to the papers. The idiot not only spoke out yesterday but he's in the paper still yapping today. Please tell me this is a joke and he's having us on!! He surely can't be that dumb.

SHARP HAS TO RESIGN. Which would make us a bigger joke but can't see any way out of this. His job is untenable.

Sad thing is, either of these two coaching candidates would have been fine.

The only hope for this club is if there is some multi billionaire eels mad merkin out there willing to take over the joint in a private ownership.

Maybe then we'll actually get some professionals in the right positions to run the club the way it deserves to be run and the way us poor fans deserve it to be run.

Otherwise we'll just end up with various 'tickets' full of these dopey ex footballers and agenda driven fools year after year.

Can someone enlighten me. Does any other club have the chairman come out and speak publicly about club matters? Generally I thought the CEO was the public voice for the club, so I thought.

Maybe the board just ended up looking at the poll results from this thread. Simples.

And what Jake said was spot on, both the guys in contention are good candidates but Sharp has made whoever gets in start off under a great deal of pressure. Like their isn't enough with this job to begin with???

He has to resign.

What would we do as supporters if the club was professional? We'd be bored shitless

This has gone beyond anything we've seen, it really is just a joke! We are an embarrassment, the league should just relocate us to the Central Coast or something, f**k all the morons off and start again, that's what these merkins deserve!

It's not what the fans deserve...

Watching how sharp has played this out in the media makes you realise what smooth operation Gould (especially how they appointed a new coach ) and the panthers are running - you don't even know who the panthers chairman is by the reading the papers - you just assume Gould is the man in charge.

Do you reckon Penrith would allow sharp to do some work experience over there?
