if fitzy and overton are on the trust board doesnt that mean they would lobby for their views to be reflected in any ballots concerning the stadium's affairs?

sure, but there are about 6 other members on the board and Fitzy wasn't present at the meeting which decided on the name change, he actually tried to distance himself from it...

why did he distance 'himself'? if he knew what was going on why dind't he join in the debate and subsequent ballot

probably because he wasn't present at the meeting and knew that there'd be a backlash against him if he voted.

it was very unfitzgerald like attitude, didn't think he gave a sh*t what people thought of him..

The Trust made the decision. As much as I hate the guy, don't try and find excuses to lump the blame on him.

No, he was busy successfully putting th case to Jarryd Hayne that Parramatta is a better place to play football than South Sydney.
