If & it’s a big If our shambles of a board sacked L plate they’d only appoint young or Hornby anyway. McGuire is the one I’d be looking at.

This is what I fear as well. They get rid of one idiot and appoint another rookie with no runs n the board. 12 months time we are back in the same boat.

If they ever grow a set, they need to appoint an actual coach to replace him

Dragons press conference

It's all going to be O.K...Coach said he is very Angry. Maybe he should ask the fans how they feel aftwe 4 years of this...

Yep, it’s the penalty counts fault. Yep it’s the other team putting 40 on us fault. Yep, I was happy with our line speed. Yep 7 penalties and a man in the bin, that didn’t help.

The man has more excuses than a Chinese telephone book has Chins.

But we have 3 games to make the 4 again. Sorry mcidiot, that ship has sailed. You has 3 games to stay in the 8. Concentrate on that.

Watch some sharks games...or ask their fans ....
I respect you but I remain a Dugan fan. When we lost our place in the semis last year Dugan was the only one showing true emotion. He was actually crying. To all the haters out there I just want to emphasise the fact that he put his body on the line all the time, hence the injuries. I don't get the hate and I certainly don't condone our current FB who can never get out of the 10 metre line, let alone defend it. No hard feelings GS

Lets agree to disagree..( By the way I am not a Dugan Hater, that's your deduction based on me putting forward some valid criticism )

We are not comparing apples with apples..dugan on 3 times the money and 10 years experience as opposed to someone in their 1st full year and on nowhere near dugan;s money.

i don't dislike dugan..but you overlook the penrith incident where he missed the bus etc.( Hardly put the team first there ) and for the money he is on he is usually out injured for a large portion of the season.

Dugan also tried to hold the club to ransom insisting on a 1 mill a year contract ...I am glad that Millwsrd didn't bow to his managers demands.

sharks fans are far from impressed with him

Dufty is a young kid...under better coaching he will improve. You state he cannot get out of the 10 metre line...really...maybe go look at the highlight reel on youtube..pretty good for 1 year in first grade.

As I said, lets agree to disagree and move on. Have a good evening.

I'll agree to some extent. Hopefully I will have an uneventful nightshift X

This coach is in denial .... cant stand his after game interviews ...... The writing was on the wall 6 weeks ago , this bloke hasn't got the vision to look outside the square to try and change things .
His answer was to take the team for a drinking bonding session and stay away from home last week.
Not fine tune our defensive line, not teach dufty to catch a high ball, not get some new and creative attacking moves happening, not discussing strategies......not analysing what they needed to do differently to turn it around.....but to take the boys away for drinks and bonding all week.

He thinks the booze wiill fix the problem.

Look at the stats tonight lopsided.
Terrible effort.
I dont care what anyone says, when a team gets seven penalties in a row from a ref you wil be straggling. Not one team is perfect
Thats why refs even up penalty counts when its too late.
We were bad
Only us can go from where we were to where we are.
Still 5th but not for long.
Other teams bounce back from floggings but i being a dragon tragic cant see it atm
Simple, don’t give away 7 penalties.
Coaches and players are the ones to point the finger at

I was at a wedding last night and the bride's father was a mad Saints supporter. He and his brother came up to me and asked if I knew the score. The dad said it was 22-0 and Widdop could be gone for the year. He commented that we were stuffed and he asked why I thought we weren't playing the way we did in the first half of the season. His brother, who is an education office for Country RLeague said,
"You Saints supporters don't get it do you? They ARE playing the way they did in the first half of the season, they are playing EXACTLY the same way they did at the beginning. That's the problem.
They use the same attacking structure, play the same sweeping moves and, worst of all, their defensive plan is the same as day one. Good teams adjust, yours doesn't."
He also said the referee crackdown at the beginning of the year had helped our quick one forward up, quick play the ball and another forward up one off the ruck, then a sweeping backline move. Teams have learnt to slow us down in the ruck and as the penalties have dried up a little and the 10 metres is not being policed as much we still play the same way.
I think he is right.......sigh

I just want to know what happened to our second phase play. Nobody backing up and we run one out and hope for the best with a bomb on the last.

That's Dragons Footy, and the pinnacle of achievement in NRL for League purists and StGI board and management members. Takes a special coach and supremely disciplined players to achieve it.

There's some truth in that, but I don't think it's the whole story. They showed in the second game against Melbourne and against the cowboys they can create chances. Yes our team doesn't adjust or at least doesn't adjust very often. Put that down to on-field leadership of which there isn't very much.

I also wonder whether players like JDB and Sims now that they have played for the State side don't feel the need to try as hard. And players like McInnes and Aitken who missed out on Origin don't feel they need to try as hard.

Hope the wedding was awesome. The footy was shit.

It is clear our club and coaches look outside first and to bring consultants or experts in other fields to solve their problems. Thats where all our problems start. Complicating a simple game
