Maybe not the forum to ask this, would things have been different if BS had handled the out of town/country boys in Lyon and Smith differently, or better?

Smith is great in developing them but cannot seem to produce when it matters. The Roosters and us are prime examples.

Don't like to say this, but Joseph Paulo seems to have people mesmerised, sure he can ball play - but poor defence and a good game of 1 in 10 seems to be ignored

I think he is a bit of a liability in the team, great person but should not be a regular NRL pick

He frustrates the shit out of me as a player. Crabs across the field more than Adam Dykes.

Don't know why we let Kingston go either. Must have been crazy.
He was all but coming back to us but the pretender was hesitant because he never rated him and let him go and signed Corey Hughes at the Sharks. You see the pretender does not like to admit that he was ever wrong.

Nolan then enticed Peats to sign even though he was still under contract with Souths. I still would have signed them both.

From a good source, Ando said it was OK to let him leave as we have Ant Mitchell, there you go.

The same person that said Mateo and Inu were too relaxed and happy to play his way

I wish we still had Kingston, Mateo and Inu.

Even though we never won a comp I remember how excited I was 10 years ago when I saw Tim Smith and Mateo just tear up the opposition in the lower grades. Then along came 2005 and I was convinced that I was watching a future QLD origin halfback. To this date Tim Smith is the biggest tragedy that I have seen since I have supported the EELS from the mid 70's.

Tim Smith has been carving up for Salford in the first two rounds of the ESL, especially after Rangi Chase got injured in the first game. Hock and Mullaney were also killing it. But round three at home, and the wheels fell off. They got belted 38-0 by St Helens.

Anderson didn't rate him and Inu. The club wanted to keep them but he insisted that we should let them go and sign Shakelton and Tahu.

I rate Ando but that was a stupid decision.

I'm sure he rated them, just not at the price they were asking. We were under massive salary cap pressure at the time. Probably Hagan's fault.

Also, Inu at least seems to have had a shit attitude. Mateo was and still is a defensive liability on the edge, much like Dave Taylor.

Joe Paulo isn't in the same class as Mateo, but he's got similar skills and would be a damn sight cheaper.

Don't be surprised if POH goes ok at the Dogs......I have no problem with us letting him go, but he might suit their system quite well.

I didn't see any issue with Anderson letting mateo / Inu leave as there needed to be changes made to the squad. My concern was Anderson letting them go without replacing them with players of similar experience - he fxxked up big time not replacing them, it left the squad without strike power in the backs/forwards.

I would have liked to keep him for just one more year - he is a prime example of a player that demonstrates how hard it is to go from under 20's to the nrl. He got a lot shit on here as he didn't show the same form in under 20's in the nrl within 10 games of making his debut. But most players need 50 games to start showing some good form in the nrl. We did all the hard work with POH got him a few years experience against the older boys in reserves along with a few nrl games then we let him go, crazy if you ask me. In the few games he played last I thought he was starting to feel more comfortable in the nrl and starting to show some small signs he may able to produce his under 20 form in the nrl.

I still doubt he will crack the dogs pack.
