I believe that with the way other results have played out we have over taken Penrith and now lead the SG Ball with one regulation game left before the finals.

Eels outright second in under 20 's, when was the last time we were in the top 8?

So for the guys that regularly watch under 20's are we contenders for the title?

Stags, I know it might be a while away and might be a bit out there but if Matterson plays a few games in NSW cup do you think that Dargan could make the step-up to NYC for a few games this year? The club must be impressed with him as I can't remember a game where he hasn't been named starting for the SG Ball team.

I love what I'm hearing about Matterson and this Dargan kid. Question to people who have watched them, what are their playing styles? Any similarities to past or current players?

That's a fair point. Matterson could probably cope with NSW Cup, and he is 20 this year. But he is also the NYC captain and a key player, and it looks like they want to give the under 20s title a proper tilt.

Troy Dargan is only 17 this year. Not too young for NYC but certainly a big difference in physicality. But you're right, he has played nearly every game. Cody Grills played one game in 7 and one game in 6. Dargan plays on the left - I assume he is a left footer.

Jason Vidal (18 this year) trained with the NYC during pre-season but has barely been sighted in the SG Ball team. He did play this weekend though, and we won. But Doolan (another 17 year old) has been the main partner for Dargan.

It'd only be for a few games, I'd be thinking maximum 5 games. I believe that's what we gave ZDC in 2012 when he was 17 and from all reports Dargan is just as good as Clay was at that age. I also think Matterson would prosper in NSW cup, it would give us that extra bit of ball-playing and would also let Ryan see how he would handle himself against opposition who are better at defending.

These few games wouldn't take away from our shake-up of the comp because we still have some very strong players in the team: Pritchard, ZDC, Davis, Folau, Goodall, Tepu-Smith, Moeroa

Dargan is a right footer.

Yep... Dargan is a chance to play NYC after the sg ball which will finish in about 3 weeks, I think this is matto's last year at NYC so it wouldn't be a bad idea groom him at Wenty soon..

Speaking of matto, I hear Melbourne are sniffing for him..

You can't keep them all and he's certainly no Luke Brooks.

If we offer him a second tier contract you'd think he would only leave if some other club offered him top 25. And if he's not good enough for the top 25 (or rather, is not good enough for our top 25) then we have to let him go.
