I think the ability of NYC teams to give up huge leads shows the game is as much mental as it is physical at this level. I'd say all the teams are pretty well matched for speed and strength.

Some how, amazingly, we held them out for a complete set on our line.

Clay was forced to bat the ball dead though so there will be another set for the Roosters.

Small things to celebrate as Raeli absolutely belts the ball carrier.

It doesn't mean much though as the Roosters score two plays later down our right-edge again.

Long cut out pass puts Lavaka in a 1-on-1 defensively against his opposite and he is stepped on the inside easily.

The conversion is missed.

Roosters lead Parra 40-30

They haven't just mentally turned off, they've completely left the field! 30-4 it was......

The try they just scored was because the halfback put a grubbed through with at least 6 players near the ball and not one if them made an effort, they might as well just walk off the field because they certainly have given up!

A better run of play for Parra there but an offload ends up intercepted yet again to ruin the movement.

The Roosters look like opening us up on just about every run but we someone manage to hold it together before forcing an error to get the ball back.

Scrappy play as we try to find an overlap down our right. Matterson and Clay both get away very rough passes before Moeroa takes the tackle. He loses the ball coming up though to give the Roosters possession.

Moeroa then tries for a 1-on-1 strip but is penalised for more than one in the tackle.

A bit of rain now.

Rather than a backline movement on this play, Jackson Hastings does it all himself with a grubber steered towards the uprights that he chases and scores for himself.

No one made an effort to get to the ball for Parra in what is now a genuine capitulation.

Hastings converts his own try.

Roosters lead 46-30.

Very nearly a mistake from the Roosters from the kickoff but they retrieve the ball before it can roll dead.

Goodall manages to secure the ball from the Roosters' kick after receiving a wicked bounce at turned him round into the chasers.

Matterson bombs it on the last and it comes down untouched giving Parra a sniff in semi-open space. Leva Li can't hold onto it though and turns the ball over 10m out from the Roosters' goal line.

The Roosters have knocked on in their attempt to bat the ball back on the attacking kick.

Parra scrum 10m out from their goal line.

Nothing continues to work for the woeful Eels as Clay's attempt at a stab kick is deflected into the arms of another Rooster.

Parra end up with the ball a few tackles later through a Roosters' error and manage to make me eat my earlier words.

Matterson doesn't have much going on and fires a ball out to Lavaka. The big winger picks it up on the bounce and does it all himself as he beats three defenders from ~40m out to score out wide.

Impressive individual try, although Lavaka has struggled in defence today.

Conversion is missed by Davis.

Parra trail 34-46

76min gone.

Hey our SG Ball team secured the minor premiership. Their season will be over soon (hopefully not too soon) and I know at least one of them can play fullback.

Another kickoff reception error.

I'll let you guys imagine the details.

Scrum to the Roosters 10m out from the Parra goal line.

Neither team can be proud of that and nor can the ref. He has missed a monstrous forward pass (~3m) and allowed play to carry on.

The ball eventually ends up running dead on the last.

Lavaka tries for a quick restart fishing for some offside defenders and seemingly has found them but draws no penalty from the ref who has put his whistle away.

Some near chances on both edges as Clay and Matterson try to inject themselves but the Roosters defend well and ultimately force one final error from the Eels for what should be the final possession.

Full Time

Sydney Roosters dft. Parramatta Eels

46-34

Some positive footy early in the first half but the vast majority of this game was utter tripe from our boys. Worst effort of the season by some considerable margin.
