Haha there's a kid named Falcon playing SG Ball for the West Coast Pirates.

I wonder if he was named after Mario Fenech, or if he was just named after getting hit in the head with a football.

Those are the only players I could think of when they were talking about that. At the start of the interview I thought I was going to be disappointed as the first question was "Have you been impressed with the start of the season?" Well durh, the team is coming third and has played some quality opposition in the first 5 rounds.

Plenty of dark clouds out but nothing too heavy in the precipitation just yet as it is only drizzling.

A couple of changes for our NYC team:

Simione Leva Li replaces Corey Makelim

Joey Lussick replaces Kaysa Pritchard at starting hooker as Pritchard drops out of the team.

Eric Newbigging replaces Fred Junior Mauala in the starting front row.

Brandon Raeli comes onto the bench.

Parra kick off today, running towards to Brett Kenny Terrace.

Lussick and Moeroa are well involved in defence in the early tackles.

The Roosters complete their set with a kick that is fielded easily at the back.

Parra ruck out solidly and draw the first penalty of the game for holding down in the ruck.

Play resumes 20m out from the Roosters' goal line.

Matterson fields the ball in repeat tackles as Parra work form left to right.

The Roosters muscle up near the posts but the quick lateral shift to the right finds space for Halauafu Lavaka on the right, following a lovely offload from Folau.

First try for Parra.

Davis misses the conversion.

Terrible error from Dockar-Clay as he drops the ball from the kick off. He did the same thing in our last home game as well.

The Roosters waste no time getting on the scoreboard in reply as a simply backline movement to their right-edge catches us short. Goodall is faced with a 2-on-1 and can't keep his opposite out.

The conversion is missed.

Roosters lock the game up at 4-all

7min gone.

The Roosters make it past halfway on the last but their kick is easily taken by Lavaka.

Folau earns a penalty after a strong carry from dummy half down the right-edge.

Play resumes on halfway.

Moeroa makes a strong run and he is followed by Aloiai who busts through and steams towards the try line.

He falls just short as three defenders converge on him and he is pulled down 3m short of the line.

Parra spin the ball to the right immediately and Dockar-Clay runs to the line and very nearly crosses on his own.

Lussick is at dummy half and he channels Nathan Peats as he burrows over next to the sticks.

Davis adds the extras on this attempt.

Parra lead the Roosters 10-4

11min gone.

Big metres from the kickoff set for Parra and they pick up another penalty.

Play resumes 30m from the Roosters' goal line before another penalty is blown.

Six again, again.

Far too easy in this raid. Parra shift the ball to the right immediately and Dockar-Clay (I think) throws a lovely spiral cut-out that finds Lavaka with a world of space and he strolls past his opposite for an early double.

Davis just misses his attempt from the sideline.

Parra lead the Roosters 14-0

14min gone.

Great charge from the kickoff but Parra are very fortunate not be called for a knock on from the next carry. The offload attempt went astray but the referee ruled it went backwards.

Parra finish their set on the Roosters' 30m line and Clay sends the ball up on the last and he is taken perhaps a bit late for no penalty.

The Roosters take the ball without much pressure and ruck out a basic set. A good kick puts Parra on the back foot meaning they will have to work hard this set.

Scratch that. Fabian Goodall decides to make it look easy. He bursts up the middle and steams downfield. He has the fullback in front of him and two defenders in pursuit but Matterson has come with him. Goodall dummies to Matterson and steps to the right-edge shortside and pulls the fullback with him. He then flicks the ball to Matterson who continues towards the line before coming into contact with defenders. He manages a lovely offload back to Goodall who steps back towards the posts to complete a fantastic try.

Davis can't add the extras.

Parra lead 18-4

18min gone.

Matterson does some great work and then ends up butchering his own try!

He runs it down the left and bumps off a defender before turning back on the inside and offloading to Lussick to put him through a gap.

Lussick can see the space in behind the defence and tries to thread a kick through for Goodall but it picks up a deflection. The ball ricochets straight into the hands of Matterson who just about only has to fall over the line but has the ball stripped in his earthbound descent.

Parra get the scrum restart and go the right on the first play. The Roosters muscle up better on this occasion and repel the Eels. Parra come back to the left and find Josh Aloiai who powers through multiple defenders on his line back to the posts and scores a great individual try.

Davis converts from in front.

Parra lead 24-4

22min gone.
