“While the Eels football department has come under fire for its penchant for dragging out contract negotiations, the retention of Brown and Kaufusi shows the retention and recruitment committee is making some strong decisions.”

FFS hooper, you wrote this 2 days ago:

“But there’s a view the club has now gone too far down the road of being shrouded in red tape systems and structures and those problems are now flowing on into issues within the football department.

The retention and recruitment committee’s penchant for checks and balances surrounding every decision means negotiations can often drag on far too long.

The protracted negotiations of captain Clint Gutherson and the loss of some of the club’s best young talent headed by Stefano Utoikamanu to the Wests Tigers are classic examples.”

Hang on - "retention of Kaufusi"? Is that official?

If so, that's great news!

watched Joey run through a session today for about 90 mins. He ran them through a pile of drills focusing on body shape and selling things to the opposition that your not gonna do, then some kicking drills. He's still got it. He can put the ball on a dime
Great acquisition by the club. Even I learnt stuff

I used to hate Johns as a player thought he was completely overrated but it’s really clear he knows his football but also knows how to convey it across

When I was younger, I hated him.

I went back recently and watched his career closely on DVD, and...man, the guy was a genius.

The most complete player I've ever seen.

Could be a bit bratty at times, but the guy was phenomenal.
