If he makes the side I reckon Cartwright might start. Lane isn't a genuine edge forward, and Cartwright at least has better lateral movement in defence.

He isnt that small tbh .... he is quite a solid defender in the middle ..... i think the defensive question marks would be more around his decision making

I say 'nope'. I don't think that is a risk BA would be considering to take. Having said that.....

Agree that Opacic will most likely get the nod. Out and out centre and from memory has always played left centre for the broncos and the Cowboys.
I think Will Smith would be behind Opacic, Oldfield and Fergo as a starting centre. BA likes quite big and tall outside backs.
I think Smith will feature in the 17 at various stages throughout the year, but if Nathaniel Roache is fit i think he should be the first pick #14...he is quick from dummy half, strong and can also play in the halves

One game is worthless as a sample. Ferguson is 35/66 career wins at centre (53%) which is marginally better than his overall career win rate (51%). The main issue with putting him at centre is he has fewer opportunities to carry the ball.
