Maybe des has realised that without tom to pass to that jake is just blond Adam Docker?
There are different types of middle forward. The point is you can mix and match. There isn't a single type of 'lock' who wears 13 and you can only have one of them on the field at a time. There's a few different types of middle, some of them wear 13 and some don't. Some wearing 13 might as well be wearing 8 or 10 (e.g. Taumalolo, Asofa-Solomona). I can't see why Trbojevic and Brown couldn't both be on the field at the same time. It's not like they will be locking scrums.Do 13's have a different role though, different stats? Like constantly taking the fourth tackle hit up? Not sure if Terbobovic does that.
On the upside he will find space and improve his money ball skills with experience.Drown is one of the best defensive players for his size and position Ive ever seen.
Would love to see him set up a try but.........
he is still so young, his defensive game just seems to be instinctive for mine, he has this natural tacking technique and just takes their legs out form under them and he has such pace that he can run them down from behind, saved 2 tries in the first half against the ponies
his attacking game will develop but its hard to be master of all trades at just 20 year of age
he is one of our most important players and doesn't do the fancy attacking things like Gutho and co but geez he's a gun for his age
I just hope we manage to hang onto him
And that is what is wrong with the game. A tackle that involves 3 or 4, the wrestle, and then players peeling off slowly is better rewarded than a one on one tackle.
There is a rule change for you PVL.

People need to get over the luck in that lost ball try. Even if Mead doesn’t knock the ball out, that would’ve still been a LBA for Drown. We just would’ve had to deal with more cover defenceDrown is one of the best defensive players for his size and position Ive ever seen.

"Great tackle mate but now you have to be offside during the next play. Them's the rules."If the NRL and the refs wanted to reward traditional, textbook tackles by calling them a dominant tackle he'd be the best defender in the game. Unfortunately the refs see his 1v1 tackles and want him to move straight away
I don't see why the one-on-one tackle should get rewarded. The defensive team allowed their defender to get isolated. They should be punished for lack of effort. Have a go and get some numbers in the tackle. And that is what is wrong with the game. Would love him to stay. But the money the club is offering is fair for the position and his ability. Based on limited knowledge, (what the journo’s sprout about salaries) that would make him on e of the top 5 paid players at the club.Barnstorming Parramatta Eels forward Nathan Brown is considering a huge offer from the Manly Sea Eagles to jump ship at the end of the season.
We’re told the Eels are running out of patience with the NSW State of Origin lock, who has had a two-season $600,000-a-year offer on the table for several months.
Manly coach Des Hasler is desperately keen on Brown and his robust style of play.
This is surprising considering he already has Kangaroos and Blues Origin forward Jake Trbojevic playing in the position.
Brown is 28 and rated one of the toughest and most fearless players in the competition.
He had a magnificent second-half at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night in Parramatta’s fightback from a 16-0 deficit to win a thrilling contest.
