Eels in the media

I hope you give them a spray.

The funny thing is, that PPG approached their Trade Centre Store Managers at the time, and asked for their suggestions to help boost our profile.

I worked at the Parramatta store at the time, and being a mad Eels fan, I knew we needed a sponsor spot on our jersey back then.

I even got a quote from the Eels, which I forwarded to my bosses.

I was told it was pie in the sky stuff.

So I find it funny that some 5 or so years later, that it's actually happening.

I said to them, I said, "You pay me $40,000 a year to run your store - now you're going to listen to me!"

Nekk minnit, I'm on the dole.
If you want to get ahead in the world of business you need to learn to figure out what people want to hear and only tell them that. Save your truth bombs for LU.

Very true.

I actually garnered a reputation in my previous role for being difficult, even though I was only bringing up constructive criticism as to how the organisation could improve from the stores' perspective.

Yeah - corporate desk jockeys didn't like that...

I saw a Women’s day presentation that talked about how the only workplace responses are atomic or nothing. They were talking about discrimination but it’s amazed me more and more that in the age of outrage how much further this has permeated. Basically if I leave a couple of biscuit crumbs on kitchen bench, may as well pack up my desk

Agreed.

But when you have some constructive feedback on how one's organisation can improve, then you're public enemy number one.

Barnstorming Parramatta Eels forward Nathan Brown is considering a huge offer from the Manly Sea Eagles to jump ship at the end of the season.

We’re told the Eels are running out of patience with the NSW State of Origin lock, who has had a two-season $600,000-a-year offer on the table for several months.

Manly coach Des Hasler is desperately keen on Brown and his robust style of play.

This is surprising considering he already has Kangaroos and Blues Origin forward Jake Trbojevic playing in the position.

Brown is 28 and rated one of the toughest and most fearless players in the competition.

He had a magnificent second-half at Suncorp Stadium on Friday night in Parramatta’s fightback from a 16-0 deficit to win a thrilling contest.
