I play baseball and I know the hardest pitchers to face aren’t the guys who throw every pitch at a billion miles an hour, nor the guys who vary that with changes that barely go the distance or curves that move 3 metres. It’s the guys that have no real discernible difference in their throws until the balls passed you. Subtlety is my point. Our choices aren’t just run forward or go side to side. Players have to be adaptable in the moment
