Kenny dominates for a decade and did everything in the game. Was never labelled overrated and even Wally Lewis said he was the best in his era. The fact that the 80’s era only has one immortal who is a questionable one at that (Meninga) demonstrates the disrespect that the game has for players of that era.

Immortal is a very special title. It should be reserved for those extra special.
Im a huge fan of Sterlo, Kenny and The Crow but it would be Pricey every day for me when contemplating an Eel. The only other Id consider would be Gibbo but Im not sure if Coaches are eligible.

He didn’t dominate in the premier competition at the time. He dominated in the second tier and 3 state games a year. Even when he played for Australia, Kenny took his position at 6. 1982 Kangaroo tour from memory. They went with Mortimer and Lewis and eventually were replaced by Sterling and Kenny.

Lol you are right on this one?? Anyone who captained the side to get best by Fatties Nuffies is automatically out of the equation.

He had to play second fiddle to Daley throughout most of the 90’s and without Johns in 01 got beat by 80 year old Alfie lol.

He has him on longevity and arguably leadership even though Bert only got to captain a shit Eels team late in his career. Bert also played in arguably the greatest Kangaroos squad ever assembled. Fittler after he left the Riff was pretty average for the Roosters for quite a few seasons until Gus could put a stacked team around him and then it was only one GF win in a year stained by the Dogs disqualification.

Overall? I’d say Fittler but Kenny at his best was better than Fittler at his. I’m sure you’ll think thats a cop out answer but I don’t think it’s a particularly good question.

Hard to compare different players across different eras and say definitively which one is better.
