Or do you just need better players or more luck? There's plenty of examples of clubs changing coach and not improving. Look at us after 2010, the Dogs after Hasler, Brisbane after Bennet, there's plenty more.

You’re literally supporting my argument. They became worse. The Bulldogs made 2 grand finals under Hasler (one of which they overachieved big time in 2014) and the Broncos were perennial finalists under Bennet. The Broncos are a strong club so if coaching wasn’t a factor in success then they shouldn’t have fallen like they did. Good coaches can have expiration dates at clubs and that’s what I think happened to Hasler.

Coops is turning into a very boring and annoying commentator. He tries to make things exciting but often only manages to make it boring with his lackluster wordy delivery. And by never putting sh*t on the clubs he likes or played for even when they deserve it he discredits his statements and analysis. Like I've said before, I would have Mark Gasnier over some of these other hacks any day.

Whatever happened to him? It's like he dropped off a cliff. Not even brought back for the occasional cameo guest appearance anywhere. Very strange that a guy would just quit such a high profile gig at such relative young age and so early in his career.

Such a pity and we have to put up with the Blocker types in the meantime.

He was a very good caller and great sideline commentator and interviewer. Same as Matty Russell he gets the girls games and the odd call of a shit game. He’s much better than that total wanker in Speed-deeeeee.

Andy Raymond stepped in to call a few games for ABC Radio last year, I think when they struggled to get regular callers due to Covid border restrictions etc. So many be he's based up in QLD now...
