💯 Penisini is a keeper and I'm a big fan. Just feel we need 2 more to keep competition for the other centre spot healthy.
Penisini has commitment, desire, will to win and the right attitude.
He did have some shockers recently but he for mine is a future captain of the club.
Wingers we need because unless Sivo tries to mirror Rawalawa's efforts with attack in particular, then I'd dispense with him.
Russell I don't mind at all and he's getting better. I'd rather him ahead of Simonsson on the wing or centre. Filling out more and good game awareness.
Just feel we can do better in these spots.
Rumours are floating around about Papalii wanting to come home. If so then tap Ogden, Davey, Rodwell and Momoisea.
We need a few tweaks not wholesale changes BUT have to address lack of quality in the outside backs

I agree it would be ideal if we could pluck a better centre from somewhere while he develops, but then we risk losing him, probably to RU

I think we just have to be patient with him for now.

If we waste more salary cap space on Papalii then we deserve what we get.

If we effectively go in with the same squad then how are we going to go better?
We need 2 centres and 2 wingers to be added..and some serious pace..
Only Moses and Dylbro are quick the others aren't. To me that's a massive problem. We need someone with express pace who can play in 1 through to 5.
I wouldn't be against guth and dylbro swapping. Guth has been out of position in a number of games this year, yet at times he has been unbelievable...
I would also change captains.
Honestly would have Moses as the sole captain.
Don't think we need express pace - just people that can play the position - especially defensively is enough
If you aren't giving the opposition an easy 2 or 3 tries per game there is enough attacking options from Moses/Brown/Lane/Cartwright/Matterson

That's exactly what they have done ffs! Haven't you been paying attention?
No we've had vacancies in the top 30 all year, apparently even past the deadlines. When the choice is between paying too much or not signing a player what is the right choice? Don't pretend you know. It's a retorical question.

You and pou have agreed on something that's incredible.

Lets mark down 24th August 2023 as a day of reckoning.

Actually there are many things that Pou and I agree on, its just that I can't cop all the bogus stats and a million and one crappy excuses for all our failures. When does accountability ever become part of the equation?

He is just a troll that is always looking to reel someone in. I swear I bet he never has more then one hand on the keyboard.

Yep. More players like Ofahengaue, Davey and Lussick. Attacking plodders, but they work hard and don't miss many.

I’ll ask again why has our defence fallen off a cliff with them in the side??
the Melbourne game seemed to be the worst in terms of getting carved up through the middle - since then it appears that they are caught short out wide

The mis-reads from the outside 2 off the scrums 2 weeks in a road has been aweful

those players don't play 2 to 5
An experienced defender in those positions would be a welcome addition to the team
Our best defensive year in recent times was 2020 (third best), where we had these four on the field nearly every week:

2. Sivo
3. Jennings
4. Blake
5. Ferguson

This lineup took the field together in 19 of 22 games. The exceptions were a round 10 loss to Manly (no Ferguson), round 20 narrow win over the Tigers (no Jennings) and the preliminary final loss to Souths (no Sivo, Jennings or Ferguson). Sivo and Ferguson were injured the week before against Melbourne, where Sivo lasted 11 minutes, at which point we were up 6-0. You can't help bad luck.

When you have dangerous playmakers with space in front of them the outside defenders are f**ked whatever they do. If they stay out the playmaker will beat his defender one-on-one, and if they come in he will just pass. It's up to the playmaker to murder the play. At least if the defenders come in they're a chance of forcing a bad pass.
