Eels in the media

I dont think you (or any of us) should hold our breath waiting to "hear him out on his plans".
It would be highly unlikely for any NRL coach to share with the media any plans they have for how they are going to be preparing and focusing their team.
Why not? We're not asking him to share the tactics to use in 2025. If I was him, I might do a round of the podcasts that float around. Let's just hear the guy outside of post game pressers. What is his footballing philosophy and how he thinks the team will develop in the future, what will be the role of juniors and junior football in the district.

No one's holding a gun to his head, he's not signing a contract with the fans. NRL coaches live in a weird world of secrecy. At the end of the day, fan interaction isn't going to hurt the coach, the results will but that can wait til November when the team gets back to the training field.

He seems a fellow who isn't interested in hyping himself up. Definitely missed out on the Benji Gene.
It would be nice to hear him talk but often less is more. The last thing we need to hear are empty promises before a ball is kicked. The best coaches are often aloof for want of a better word. In Ryles we trust!

The Eels get a mention by the Eye Test guy this week.

It’s a deep dive about Cronulla’s chances next week vs Penrith, but I suspect it will take about 10 mins for this to turn into a sledge against the guy who coached us in 2022. Go crazy.

The TCT guys did an interview with Bernie Gurr. Great insights.

We're a significantly poorer club without Bernie as our CEO. It's a shame he decided to move on.

We lost far too much footy IQ that was never replaced when he departed. He's forgotten more about rugby league than the current CEO will ever know.

Yet we had better results under the current CEO

Bernie - 4th, Spoon, 5th
Jimmy - 3th, 6th, 4th (GF), 10th, Sacked coach

No spoon and a GF.

That footy IQ guy applauds Potato Head and thinks of him as a Eels legend.
