You could be right. We shall see I guess. This is why I think Barrett or Demetriou will be signed all the other coaches will take a deep look at the club and decide against taking the job ..

And yet most clubs have an R&R committee and all clubs work under the NRL's 'soft' salary cap for football operations. This is why I think Barrett or Demetriou will be signed all the other coaches will take a deep look at the club and decide against taking the job ..

I'll let you work out which club this is:

Agreed, but I don't see how having an R&R committee would be a negative to someone like Ryles when that is what he knows. And yet our club is run no where like the Storm...

Sorry, Chipmunk commented on it and you agreed, so I figured to just reply to your post. Not sure, I never said having a committee was the issue
But now we have mentioned it maybe the way the committee is run/controlled is the issue?

My bad.
It's not that there's a committee...it's the membership that will be the deterrent.Agreed, but I don't see how having an R&R committee would be a negative to someone like Ryles when that is what he knows.
Isn't Ben Rogers Head of Recruitment and Retention, so our equivalent to Bunn? It's not that there's a committee...it's the membership that will be the deterrent.
Who do you think Ryles would be more comfortable with making recruitment and retention decisions of rugby league footballers, Ponisi and Bunn or our CEO, Chairman and MON?
No idea, but which group of people do you still think Ryles would be more confident in making the right decisions on being able to recruit and retain rugby league players to play in the NRL?Isn't Ben Rogers Head of Recruitment and Retention, so our equivalent to Bunn?
Definitely the Storm's current setup. No idea, but which group of people do you still think Ryles would be more confident in making the right decisions on being able to recruit and retain rugby league players to play in the NRL?

One with a touch of nepotism? And has a liking for Bunns...And yet most clubs have an R&R committee and all clubs work under the NRL's 'soft' salary cap for football operations.

He was still available a year ago and no club snapped him upThe fact of the matter still remains that Wayne Bennett was available to coach in 2025, two years ago.
Except Bennett's team went even worse last year.Once we didnt make the finals last year a decision should've been made that he wouldn't be the coach in 2025 and they should've contacted Bennett then, and done the deal.
Most clubs are no better than us.He could've knocked back the contract extensions and taken the other coaching jobs he was offered if he wasnt happy.
If he wants to go to a club as big as Melbourne, his opportunities are extremely limited. No idea, but which group of people do you still think Ryles would be more confident in making the right decisions on being able to recruit and retain rugby league players to play in the NRL?
Doing up his shoe laces???Highlights the challenges that BA had as coach.
The Storm love a bun.One with a touch of nepotism? And has a liking for Bunns...
lol there are those Apple to Apple comparisons that Pou loves.Except Bennett's team went even worse last year.
