This is far more likely than bullshit assessments like Arthur’s-doesn’t-understand-modern-tactics or chasing-collisions-wore-players-out. I think it’s pretty obvious the senior players are the problem, given the alarming drop in form for most of them, and the coach enabled that. They aren’t too old, they are unprofessional. Bennett has a bunch of forwards older than our lot, and they are still maintaining high standards.
But the f**kers kept on renewing his contract. They are throwing BA under the bus. And BA needed to go. But they are just as guilty!I found this part interesting, suggests there really was a disconnect between Arthur and the board:
“However, there has long been a belief within the Parramatta organisation that a disconnect between the football team and the club was holding them back.
Ryles’ homework, if as thorough as we are led to believe, would’ve discovered that well before Mitchell Moses’ post-game tirade after the Knights game a week ago highlighted it.
It’s a culture the Eels privately believe has been allowed to fester under the siege coaching mentality of Arthur, and a realignment of the club’s culture and standards was imperative in their search for his successor.”
It was the KPI that did effers up. They are like POsBut the f**kers kept on renewing his contract. They are throwing BA under the bus. And BA needed to go. But they are just as guilty!
That's a depressing thought, but hey we are just a small tin pot club with no money and no resources. He’s a very adequate coach. One of the best we’ve had.
Training out of the centre of adequacyThe adequate parramatta eels !!
Dare to dreamHope Ryles is above adequate
They renewed his contract once. The extension after 2022 was a performance clause. But the f**kers kept on renewing his contract. They are throwing BA under the bus. And BA needed to go. But they are just as guilty!
*adequate resourcesThat's a depressing thought, but hey we are just a small tin pot club with no money and no resources.
He’s not a scapegoat. We weren’t improving and that is the coach’s job. We needed to try something different. No guarantee that will work either but can’t keep going the same thing over and over. That’s how scapegoats work. In the Torah a literal goat was exiled into the desert to take the tribe’s sins away. Now everything’s fine.
If Pou had his way Mick Cronin would still be the coach. He’s not a scapegoat. We weren’t improving and that is the coach’s job. We needed to try something different. No guarantee that will work either but can’t keep going the same thing over and over.
If they won every year you’d just say they were a strong club. If they don’t then every team has a decline. Which is it?No team continually improves. Every high point is followed by decline. Even the Storm goes through this. It’s just that their lows are much higher than everyone else’s because they are such a strong club.
Ouch.Very few people here have stopped to consider how poorly the squad has fared since he was smashed.
I think this recent revisionism is a worry.
Your fellow fans of other clubs, rest assured we are scratching our heads over the decision and to see you jumping on his grave seems quite odd and disturbing.
What?If they won every year you’d just say they were a strong club. If they don’t then every team has a decline. Which is it?
All Ryles-ed up
Which current NRL coach was secretly pushed to Parramatta before Jason Ryles got the job on Monday?
The coach, from a struggling club, isn't in a good place with his players and knows his time at his current club is set to come to an end within the next 12 months.
But it came too late – the Eels had already decided on Ryles, and he is a good choice.
Ryles has served a long apprenticeship at the Storm and Roosters and will bring a new approach to the club.
The Eels are in need of a facelift and Ryles will do whatever it takes.
I reckon we know where some journos get there info from.
Must be on here where the Payten to Parra legs have started.
